turn on power saving made in battery settings. it stops the battery drain when you're not using the phone. i was noticing battery drain was a little high when i wasn't doing anything until i turned it on. yeah i lose out on some features, but i rather have super long battery life.

My 4000 mAh vivo v21 lasts longer than the A52s, with 90hz mode. I was thinking of switching to the a52s but seeing it's terrible battery life, changed my decision. As unsatisfied as I might be with this phone, it provides an outstanding battery life for it's battery capacity. It's battery life is amazing with some serious battery optimizations, and even with 90 Hz on, it dials back to 60hz to save power when it can. This is the best example of dedication to provide customers, the best user experience, unlike Samsung. Samsung is the only company that seems to have a serious problem providing an auto mode for refresh rate. There's only 2 modes available, a 60 Hz and 120hz. 60 means straight 60 while 120 means straight 120 for everything. This means when 120 Hz is on, everything will run at 120 Hz, may that be videos, web browsing or anything else, there's no dialing back to 60hz when the screen is not touched or when there's no need for 120hz e.g. in video playback. Samsung doesn't do that. This really kills the battery life. It reduces the video playback time by like 5 hours and overall it makes the phone's battery die quicker than every single competitor. Mi 11 lite ne 5g (4250mah) and realme gt master(4300mah), both last longer than a52s while having a smaller battery. This is because they provide an auto mode, have better battery optimization and a dedication to provide the best user experience to customers, but don't expect that from Samsung, it's on a completely different path.
      Another example is the lackluster performance of the A52s. It has a Snapdragon 778g chipset, yet you can't play games on it, Samsung has binned down the performance of this chipset. I don't understand, this chipset already is very aggressive about controlling the temperature, so what's the need to be so aggressive about the thermals. Where other chipsets reach above 60 degree, even with the highest performance, it won't go higher than like 45 degree or 50 degree at most. So, kindly provide the best performance Samsung, your devices suck at gaming.

          It's actually extremely pathetic of Samsung to provide UFS 2.1 storage with such a chip and at such a price point. Seems like Samsung takes us for fools. I mean ufs 2.1 with Snapdragon 778g, like seriously. I didn't even know it supported ufs 2.1 and thought that a52s would be for sure with ufs 3.0 at least. But to my optimism, Samsung fooled me. I didn't think Samsung could possibly be this pathetic and provide this at this price point and with this chipset. But Samsung is as pathetic as ever, and that's what Samsung does. It only wants to empty our pockets, but we would prefer getting some value which remains an argument between Samsung and I. The moment I thought Samsung has stopped doing stupid things and has started providing customers the value for their money, I was proved wrong by Samsung, right when my perception about Samsung had started to change. Thanks Samsung.

                Bought my girlfriend the A52s and while she's pretty happy with it, she's having a lot of random restarts since the last update. Anyone else facing this?

                  I am disappointed about battery life of this A52S. To compare with Huawei P30 pro battery with 4250mah Samsungs A52s 4500 mah battery lasts much worse.

                    Kinda controversial on A52s 5G battery stuffs here, so I'll just post my own usage and how the battery drains.

                    Turned on power saving mode with "Turn off 5G" option turned off. (and my carrier only provides 4G+). With heavy use (mainly Instagram, WhatsApp and Reddit), the battery can last about 12h30m.

                      but average usage, like a bit of youtube, music, email, web search, photos, etc definitely easily get 2 days

                        Make sure you disable background usage of apps like upday, that has always been a pig when it comes to battery usage.

The battery life on the a52s is quite bad, charging it twice a day. Only using Social media and chat apps, no gaming nor any Netflix, all at 60Hz. The A31 used to last twice as long, yes it has a 5000mAh battery and is lower specd so naturally it will draw less battery, but damn the a52s battery is bad. I've upgraded to android 12, limit lots of apps to not run in background, but doesn't seem to help.

                                  How about battery life? I just bought it and I am not satisfied with battery life, it barely lasts a day, as my girlfriends phone huawei p30 pro with the same battery capacity lasts as double as my A52s. So wtf Samsung??
