I got my A53 right after it launched and after 3 years is still working fairly good, even after having been underwater more than once (It's surprisingly sturdy). Obviously performance and battery life worsened substantially but I'm very happy with this device overall. Specs wise is very limited by the CPU and thermals but the AMOLED screen and hi-res camera system make up for it, and Samsung's software is refined and stable in my opinion. Definitely a great purchase.

2009AppleFanRamon95, 20 Feb 2025This Phone is too expensive for a flawed phone. I feel ripp... moreI totally agree with this.
I bought my A53 around October 2022. Heaviest game is MLBB (low FPS and mid-graphic setting). March 2025 (2 years + 5 months later) after software update, shutdown and restart next day, IMEI and baseband missing, speaker and mic not working. Samsung Service Centre tried to do some flashing (i took the warning the phone might brick) and still the same. Next day, they quoted motherboard change for 60% of the purchase price. The phone was expected for 5 years lifespan as per their security update policy (expectation) but done in 2.5 years. Why should I pay for THEIR faulty update? no scratch, no drops, always leather cover.
Im switching my purchase plan to lower budget model with 2+ year lifespan expectation. At least can mitigate the risk of failure. But definitely not another Samsung. A overpromised update policy which is thinning in quality. I suspect its matter of time to hit other models over the the year.
One advice. Do not update as soon its available. wait one month for them to settle the issues.

s35ym., 13 Mar 2025Stop bashing any phone model just because it has exynos chip.Lol, this phone was way overpriced and really underpowered for the price it was asking for. It gets absolutely destroyed by the Poco F4 and Xiaomi 12T.

This Phone is too expensive for a flawed phone. I feel ripped off based on performance.
This smartphone has given me too much issues performance issues and shutterlag or refuses to take photos when in motion.
Pros(Not many because I encountered Performance Issues)
+Plays Good Games Like Genshin Impact and Magic The Gathering Arena
Best to use it as a side phone basically a side pocket tablet.
(Note if you are using it as a Genshin Impact Machine make sure you have that game as the only game app.)
+Feels great in physical texture when holding it.
CONS(A lot of them with in a year using it as my daily phone the time of this posting)
+Typos(Big Fingers and lots of accuracy issues such as imperfect touch calibration)
+Bad Touch screen calibration(Even a Nintendo DS performs better with its touch screen)
+Shutter Lag(Sometimes refuses to take a photo when in motion specially as a tourist)
+Slow Performane
+Internet Lag and Internet Performance is not the best.
+Short Battery life
+Laggy Device
+Crappy Cameral
+Too Expensive for a poor performance phone
+Not good to be used as a daily phone since its performance issues is an inconveninence to use this slow garbage.
+LED Screen Burn in specially when Im reading PDF files for school or work I see burn in on the Clock Battery Notification and Battery Status bar and on Triangle Circle Square touch bar,

Bob, 02 Feb 2025Why is it that after I updated the phone it would no longer... moreBack up your stuff to a computer, and reset the phone. The update had a mugged up bit someplace, and it needs to be replaced/reset/reloaded, in some way.

I bought this A53 when it was already 2 years old, and it has performed Astronomically well, handling everything I have asked of it. The battery life is still respectable, and it's network capabilities are fantastic. IMHO. I rely on this phone for much of what I do, and it's answered the call, everytime. Thanks for this one, Samsung.

I have been using this phone since I bought it a little over 2 years ago. No issues whatsoever. I don't play games anymore, not since I got this phone, so I can't comment on that kind of performance. Got a case with camera protection, as well as a screen protector on. I am planning for it to last me years to come.

GSMarena why did you delete my opinion about the query related to security issues of exynos chip in A53 5G? Because of Samsung's sponsorship? It's a potentially dangerous thing.
I have that device and I'm afraid to use it because of that problem

An okay phone with some issues. phone would nog register touches/mistouches just after a year. A quick restart helped.
Same problem came up few days back, again fixed with a restart. I hope it's not related to motherboard. Thinking of ditching Samsung if I keep getting these problems but the Chinese alternatives are riddled with ads.
Plus cost performance ratio is nowhere near good.
