Been using this phone for exactly 2 years now. From the performance standpoint, not that great - overheats a lot and starts to lag just by simply browsing internet/chatting for a bit longer (like half an hour to an hour), let alone gaming, becomes uncomfortable to hold it in my hands due to the heat. The camera is ok to me, maybe a little too noisy at times, i don't use it too often though so my opinion may not be the most accurate. Build quality is fine, i don't mind the plastic cover and the display is fairly resistant to scratches and looks decent in terms of quality and colours. Overall, meh. Probably won't be going with an Exynos again, sorry. Not really trusting it.

Had it for 2 years as a back up. Call to action came recently after my LG velvet started acting up. I am very unimpressed at how laggy and slow this phone is and frustratingly so. Very much beneath samsung standards. This is my 3rd Android phone and second samsung. LG velvet is 2 years older than the a53 but outperforms it beyond any reasonable doubt. Samsung should do better or stick to flagships

In the history of slow phones this is THE SLOWEST PHONE ever.
I got his as work phone but did not install anything on it not even the corporate apps.
It is one of the worst experiences I've ever come across in the last 10 years.

For 2 years of use. it has been very laggy until i tried to stop using secure folder. it drastically made the phone smooth. i heard the secure folder lag issue is only on exynos or mid range exynos phones. because snapdragon sammy phones didn't have any issues

I regretted buying this phone, there is nothing special about this phone, full of hype!!! it was even manageable before they used updates to crash the phone, my phone overheats every time even when not in used, Applications crashes every time because phone is over heating.

I've had mine for 2 years and I'm not happy at all. Even with 120hz it is not fluid. The processor is very weak. The battery does not last 1 day and only normal use. I simply hated this model. I can't wait to find another one.

I always factory reset my phone before and after applying any update and I have never had issues with performance. Never, since I started using Samsung phones.

Honestly, this was amazing phone. Why was? Because before Android 14, this ran without any problems whatsoever. After Android 14, however, everything went down the drain. The phone became pretty sluggish, would stutter at random points, get hot very quickly, and the performance in general was awful. One UI 6.1 barely fixed these issues, as the only thing fixed was the heat problem, the rest are still present. And I only have 68 GB occupied! Might switch to Motorola, Nothing or Pixel once I have money. Really wish I could find some fix for all these without needing to factory reset... (And yes I did wipe the cache partition, waiting to see if the phone is still sluggish after this.)

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2024>use ram plus at 6gb, in the dev options limit the backg... moreYou know that limiting to 4 processes is applied only to user installed apps ? The rest Samsung's crapware that you can't disable are still eating ram in the background, also limiting to 4 processes doesn't mean all the apps will be killed in the background, it means for example if you're using 4 apps : a browser, music app, youtube and ig they will stay in the background as long as you're cycling between them, and these 4 apps alone will eat up ram quickly especially the browser, without ramplus they could be killed in the background on a53 with only 6gb ram or cause major slowdowns. Just my 2 cents
