Best decision I've ever made was spending $150 for this phone. Snappy, decent camera, beautiful screen, absolutely outstanding battery...what's more to love. If you are a heavy gamer then this potentially isn't the device for you as Exynos chips are not ideal in that use case. Highly recommend for those of us who just browse normal apps, watch videos and of course use it as a general telephone. 8/10 overall!

This is the worst phone I’ve ever come across. After 3 months of buying it, it just randomly started switching off and now does not switch on at all. I’ve had it fixed twice but the problem started after just a few hours of getting it back.

Worst phone I ever bought. I bought this cz of the updates,Samsung brand n the battery. And that's all I got. A very weak phone. I didn't expect much performance from a Sam midranger anyway. But this is just the worst. Even after updating. IT LITERALLY TAKES 50 SECONDS JUST TO INSTALL A 10MB APP. NOT DOWNLOAD. INTALL! Even the UI lags occasionally. Buy this only if u don't consume any multimedia. Video playback quality is bad. The cpu should be able to handle heavy games at low graphics. But it doesn't! It has frame drops all the time! Doesn't matter whthr it's heating or not. The sw optimization is too bad. Sam releases a low number of models compared to other android brands which is good n should mean they have more time to optimize each phone but somehow they manage to screw that up too. I occasionally play pubg with lowest settings n medium fps(30) which this phone should handle but it just can't. It has frame drops all the time. My 5 year old huawei with 1/3 the speed of this phone handles the game WITHOUT FRAME DROPS even tho it can't give too much fps. Looks like Sam only cares about their s series. They think people will keep buying their other phones cz of the Samsung name. A mistake that I too made for the last time. Hopefully I can sell this and buy a xioami or oppo who actually care about their midrange phones.

I... moreI bought 12x after reading your post. My original choices were a52s and s21 fe, but they unavailable.
I think I made a right choice. A53's chip is too slow for my needs.

Coming from a Nokia 7.2 this phone is great. Bloatware is unfortunate but at least I can disable/delete most of it.

I am making this post with Galaxy A53 5G I got since April 2022 in Nigeria. The phone is so good. The battery life is excellent. It doesn't hang and it doesn't lag. This Is one of the most reliable smartphones I have used in recent years.
I commend Samsung for this great device and I will recommend it any day, any time.

It lags frequently, and charges slowly yet drains very fast. In gaming it is not bad, but definitely far from great. I really think Samsung should just use either Mediatek or Snapdragon chips, Exynos chips (except from their flagship Exynos 2200) are way behind the competition.

I am probably going to get hate for this. But the only thing giving this phone any prominence is the GPU that is in it which is the Mali-G68. The Chipset isn't even worth the board it's plugged into. The Exynos 1280. This chipset is rated very low in other phones without the Mali-G68 GPU to back up its power. If you get this phone for regular tasks and maybe some light gaming, it will be perfect. Do not expect to be doing any heavy tasks with this phone or else you can be expecting freezing and glitches in the software due to overheating. If you have the time to save up an extra $100-$150. Go get the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G which is 6 times as fast and almost 10 times better with gaming.
