TechGeek132, 09 Apr 2023Also does the A54 have UFS 2.2 or US 3.1?Although the speed tests show that it has around 500 MBps speed in sequential (basically similar to UFS 2.2 speeds), but the random speeds are much higher at around 240 MBps (which is similar to UFS 3.1).

It is important to know that UFS is a protocol, and not the hardware itself. The A54's storage could be using UFS 3.1 but not achieving high speeds because Samsung did not put in high quality NAND needed to hit 1500+ MBps speeds.

Reply: It is an utter trash phone even to get it in 2021. You may upgrade your current 8 year old Exynos 7420 junk to this F62 as it may offer lesser trash experience 🤣🤣

Also does the A54 have UFS 2.2 or US 3.1?

Exynos 1380 has one advantage in that it uses a 4×16bit LPDDR bus whereas the 778G has a 2×16bit LPDDR bus.

This means Exynos 1380 has double the memory bandwidth of the 778G

Samsung should have used the Mali G610 GPU architecture in the Exynos 1380. Huge wasted opportunity. The G610 architecture is a major improvement and brings many features like Variable Rate Shading.

2 year old Sd778G has VRS but the newly launched Exynos 1380 doesn't have it.

          What a joke

Reply: No it doesn't. The only area Exynos 1280 made parity with 2021 SD 778G is on CPU cores performance as the Exynos 1380 now started using 4x A78 cores at similar clocks as on SD 778G. In all other areas of the chip performance and capabilities, the Exynos 1380 is still inferior as usual.

AnonD-1090716, 09 Apr 2023It isn't. Check real battery tests.Did you just say that the A54 has better battery life than S23+ ?

If Samsung haven't put the Exynos 2300 in the S23 series was because they couldn't approve it for mass production due to process node renovations and refinements.
Samsung themselves will want to put Exynos again, they know that is good.
And you're the minority that hates Exynos.

This phone already gives you all the software features of the S series. Otherwise what would be the difference?

12 Trillion operations per second. 🤔

Guys. Can we please put this Exynos debate aside for now?

The Exynos 1380 is a fine processor for the average user. It's great in day to day usage.

What's not fine are the technicalities.

The Exynos 1380 uses the Samsung 5LPE node, which is roughly on par with TSMC N6, and far behind N5 or N4.
Further, the 1380 relies on older generation cores (Cortex A78,A55, Mali G68) when they could have instead used the newer gen A715 or A710, A510 and Mali G615/G610 gpu. Also- the NPU in the E1380 has a measly 4.9 TOPS of performance. That's pathetic compared to the 778G's 12 TOPS. It's clear that Samsung is cost cutting with regards to the Exynos 1380 chip. And that's a shame.

Hey guys. Do any of you own the Galaxy A54's SM-A546B model?
