I'm curious of how this phone compared to the previous previous phone, the A52s. So, it's smaller but thicker. Camera... I know you can't judge camera by it's mp but I'm wondering how it compared to it. SoC, Exynos 1380... ngl I haven't had a phone with an exynos chip before, but I heard in some games are very optimized with exynos.

I'm currently using an A52s and of course I have no plans to... I guess 'upgrade' to this, it's still a good phone. Just wondering if it's actually worth it to buy this instead A52s, which right now way cheaper.

DXOmark already tested the A34 and found that the A34 has longer battery life than A54."
Exynos 1380 still more efficient, Dxomark isn't trusted by many.
Better wait for battery drain test and reviews.

You seems to be responding to his quotes which I forgot to clear while I was replying to him. Yes, SD 7 gen 2 is vastly superior to now old SD 778G. A54 should have launched with the SD 7 gen 2 or gen 1 at least for a proper replacement to 2021 SD 778G. Unfortunately Exynos 1380 in the A54 barely competes with the 2021 SD 778G and the guy named Razor200 continuously calling it a victory for Exynos reaching on par with Snapdragon (2021 cough cough). In comparison to Exynos 1380 in the A54, the old SD 778G is still superior in GPU performance, ISPs, AI, literally all those components in an SOC except CPU cores which is now on par."
Unfortunately you can al victory for the Qualcomm, it isn't.
The old 778G won't be superior in GPU performance if the Exynos 1380 is well optimized, and in ISP the A54 showed a huge upgrade over the A52s and the A53.
This Exynos 1380 isn't the best from Exynos, this is a mid-range processor.

Game developers traditionally give preferences to Snapdragon and iPhone GPUs over anything else. Exynos is the least considered platform and often riddled with bugs, degraded visuals, efficiency and performance issues in gaming. Equivalent Snapdragon options are miles ahead in gaming experience."
Not all developers prefer to optimize for Qualcomm. There are games very well optimized for Exynos, equivalent Qualcomm chipsets aren't miles ahead when Exynos is optimized.
Exynos gives excellent gaming experience when is optimized, and by experience.

The Exynos 1380 is mid-range and competes without problem with the 778G

I understand this as some issue caused by the lack of real proximity sensor on (Samsung, in this case) phones. Better ask that guy, 2 comments below mine.

The Exynos 1380 has an NPU with 4.9 TOPS of performance.
That is pathetic for a midrange chip in 2023.

                                      For reference,

                                      Snapdragon 778G = 12 TOPS
                                      Snapdragon 765G = 5.5 TOPS

                                      Exynos 2100 = 26 TOPS
                                      Exynos 990 = 15 TOPS

                                      A15 Bionic = 15 TOPS
                                      A14 Bionic = 11 TOPS
                                      A13 Bionic = 6 TOPS

Been using the phone for a week now and I'm still impressed and don't regret upgrading one bit. Performance is worlds better than on last year's A53 and I really enjoy the new design aswell.

I don't get why people insult each other on here over this, lol. No matter what you think, this thing is going to sell like crazy just like all the other phones of the A series. Samsung delivers a much better package than any other Android manufacturer atm. Most people want a phone that just works and offers long update support and security. The avarage Joe doesn't care in the slightest if some Chinese phone has a bit better processor. It's not even noticeable in every day use anyway. Plus Samsungs UI feels really polished and userfriendly unlike other phone brands that put ads everywhere in their UI and have questionable security policies.

If you're thinking about getting an overall good Midrange phone, with good performance and long Software support you sure as hell can't go wrong with the A54.
