Battery degradation, or whatever you call it, comes to all devices after a certain time. But advices to charge between 40 and 80 percent help to stretch that time. Usually manufacturers name the period as 2 - 3 years, but i even managed to stretch it out 5 years with the A70 without changing the battery, although the capacity was already very low, it barely lasted a day without doing anything and was otherwise damaged by using various battery apps, but charging at such percentages works out, I think. And not completely discharging and charging it.

Why are people recommending this over the Poco X6 Pro here? Imo the X6 Pro is much better... it's true the A55 will get more updates but X6 Pro has the double the performance and everything's better! D8300, UFS 4.0, Bluetooth 5.4, infrared port. the A55 has IP67 and a slightly better life but that's it, X6 Pro wins overall

If you rea... moreI always say that if you buy a device full of features and turn them all off in the name of saving battery, then maybe it's better to buy a simple phone, a simple watch, etc. But i always try to get everything out of the device that i pay for. In other way why to buy good full features smartphone and do not use it? So if there is a feature that allows me to save battery life then why not use it? Also, if "device's supervision" ask you just to charge phone from 40% to 80% (i charging to 100%) why to do not that, it's simple right? Rules is simple, why not to try it sometimes without writing here fairy tales and to charge right device as advice to do manufactures? You have to change battery anyway (or tu buy phone, it's up to you what's better for you) after few years in all situation, but it's to change battery after 2 - 3 years and to change battery after 4 - 5 years is different, right?

65%-75% provides the longest battery life cycle. If you really want to prolong your battery lifespan. Charge between 65%-75%.

Plus the you must keep your phone cool because heat affects battery degradation. So don't use your phone outdoor, don't use your phone when charging, don't play game on your phone, don't use high screen brightness, basically don't let your phone heats up.

As for the average user, just enjoy your phone. Five years later, you would probably already replaced your phone, if not you can just replace the battery.

FACT IS ONE: if you want to extend battery life - charge phone's battery from 40% to 80%. Your fairy tales maybe interesting just for children. I'm already grown up from fairy tales.

Let's not fall for conspiracy theories. You should charge as the manufacturer recommends, i.e. from 0 to 100%. A little longer, and someone will come up with the idea to use between 45% and 55%.
