I got an A55 (256mb) to substitute my A71 that was still working perfectly for me but had run out of its updates, which is something i value in having in technology.
In Brazil, as i write this... the phone has dropped by about 15-20% of its original debut price.
Main point in getting this phone over an older S class model... was due to having similar features but slightly cheaper... (I am an average user that uses basic functions now a days and very light simple games, so it meets my basic requirements with plenty of room to spare if i do go back to working in tech)
Excellent overall phone!

I agree with you about noise, but all smartphones have noise in photo, they are not professional cameras. One have less, others more. I did not noticed a lot of noise in A55 photos, i mean very very much, but it's depends when you did photos at night or at day. Light is very important things for photos. All phones when is sunny day will do better quality photos, at night a lot of phones will do worse photo. Also i recommend to use tripod to have better quality photo. Hands shaking is big enemy for quality of photo. I like my A55 photos quality, they ar not always perfect, but it's enough good for daily usage.

In my area the Galaxy A55 is still... moreBig price can be reason that is very popular model and a lot of people buying it, less prices of Chinese phones usually thing is, because most buying Samsung, Apple phones. You know they want to sell faster a cr4p devices, which don't care most people and want to get more money from A55 which people buying more. In my location A55 have bigger price too, sometime it dropping, but most time is bigger. When i bought A55 i got watch 4 as a gift for 420 euros, now A55 cost 400 euros without any gift. Some sellers selling for less 400 euros, but most still want to get more and have higher price. I checked report of sells phones, A55 gone from top 10, but as i saw anyway is one of most buying phones is. Or maybe in report is mistake, because most time A55 or A5x model always is in the list. Now A35 is in top 10.

I agree with you, if someone expecting here to get professionals camera quality first have to understand that this is multi device, that's not to one specific section dedicated device, like is with DSLR camera. Smartphones doing many things (calls, games, video, camera and etc.), DSLR doing just photo/video. In DSLR is added a lot of sensors which taking better quality photos. So quality always will be worse as DSLR in smartphones. But enough good for personal photo album, social networks and etc. I like this phone, camera compare with S23 Ultra is worse, but anyway is enough good to take a photo.

I don't think... moreIt doesn't work miracles, but the photos and videos are pretty good during the day and quite bearable in the evenings. To be honest, I'm satisfied, but I feel like these aren't top-notch cameras. You can definitely upload them to social networks.

Jonathan Wong, 29 Dec 2024In my opinion, the Xiaomi 14T absolutely beats this device ... more1. Xiaomi 14T 5G (256 GB) at the same place cost 600 euros, when Samsung A55 cost 360 euros.
2. Xiaomi 14T have plastic frames, Gorila Glass 5 protection, when Samsung A55 have aliumini frame and Victum+, one of newer protection.
3. Xiaomi 14T do not have memory card, when Samsung A55 have it.
4. Xiaomi 14T pros is: processor, fast charging, when Samsung have: good support, many features and is much much cheaper.
I see only best decision to buy Samsung A55. Most your opinion i did not read, because that there are many text which mislead it.

Is this phone good for recording videos? I don't think it has 4k60fps support on its rear camera.

In my opinion, the Xiaomi 14T absolutely beats this device in hardware, for example, larger screen, thinner bezels, way better processor, extra telephoto lens, dual 50MP lens, 4K@60fps, Faster charging etc.. And the price is also cheaper BUT in terms of software, Samsung has better software because I think OneUI is smoother and It has a slightly better ultrawide lens. The battery also last longer on the samsung because of the slower charging watts and lion battery also can last longer than the li-po that xiaomi always uses, but i’m not sure after the Samsung Galaxy NOTE 7 incident yk what I’m talkin about. But this is just my opinion so please don’t get offended Samsung fanboys!

I agree that A55 can be better, but you know probably better. I don't know about M55 a lot of, it's specific model for some countries only.
