Compared to Redmi note 13 pro, the bezels looks much more larger here on the A55. Did any one notice that difference? I checked it on store, Think its even bigger than my 7 years old phone. Did anyone notice that? Another question, Do you compare this phone with the redmi note 13 pro 5g or the redmi note 13 pro plus?

Anonymous, 14 Jul 2024I hear you, I have the base S24 and I love it, but it'... moreThe main reason why most manufacturers are no longer making small phones is because of market demands in general, as many people no longer use phones as merely a communication tool. Modern phones can do almost everything a PC could, and many of these tasks demand a bigger screen.
Yes, big phones can be unwieldy, but they also bring a whole host of benefits - a bigger screen gives you a more immersive viewing experience especially for browsing, watching videos, and playing games. Moreover, bigger phones allow manufacturers to fit more and bigger hardware components, such as bigger batteries and more advanced camera sensors.
Still, it's a shame that small phones are disappearing, and there are practically no more compact low-end/mid-rangers on the market, because not everyone has large hands, and not everyone has the money to buy a flagship phone.
My only hope is for some company to start making small low-end/mid-range phones "cool" again, so other companies would follow suit. I don't believe Samsung would be one of those companies to ever do such, because they're not exactly the best at taking risks for their budget phones.

If the fingerprint sensor sometimes failed on your device. I recommend to keep locking and unlocking your phone using fingerprint multiple times. I heard it store data and learns about your fingerprint everytime you unlocked your phone.

ONE compact phone, 11 Jul 2024Why in the name of Sam Hill can’t Samsung make at least ONE... moreI hear you, I have the base S24 and I love it, but it's not really a small phone, its only small by todays standards. I remember, when not too long ago, a 5.5" display was considered huge. In fact, I still have the S7 edge, which of course is the bigger version of the standard S7, and at the time it was one of the biggest screens on the market.
I understand why someone would want a bigger screen, and I think its primarily for content viewing, because I personally don't want to be on a plane and straining my eyes trying to watch a movie on a small screen. However when it comes to phone calls, social media and messaging apps, I prefer a phone that I can fit in one hand, especially since I'm very active on WhatsApp, Viber, etc. I certainly would like to have one hand free so that I can multitask while I'm sending messages.
Many people nowadays own 2 phones, and I'm no exception. I actually have 3 phones if you include my company provided iphone 14 (which I rarely use as I detest IOS). I use the base S24 for everything social media, since I don't want to tie up both of my hands using a massive device, and then I have the S20 Ultra as my media consumption device.
Having said all that, I still use the smaller S24 as my daily driver because its relatively light, it fits in my pocket, and I can use it in one hand, if only just barely. I have a feeling that one of the major phone manufacturers is going to make a smaller device, especially given the outcry about huge phones. Even Asus stopped making small phones now, and they made an ugly looking Zenfone 11 Ultra. I'm sure they will quickly come to regret that, since the 11 Ultra isn't selling as well as the ZF 9 or 10. They had the small phone market pretty much to themselves and they ruined it. Way to sell out, Asus.

Anonymous, 13 Jul 2024That would be a dream come true.
An affordable Samsung pho... moreAnd to big phone lovers who wish to impose their preference on smaller phone lovers by shouting down those who are requesting the smaller option:
We’re not saying that all of the many big phone options shouldn't be available, we’re just asking for AT LEAST ONE small budget option a year. And by “small” we don’t mean tiny. Just a mid-range chip in a same size device as the base S23/S24 that are wildly popular, since some of us don’t have that money to spend, but we still want that size.
Does it bother you SO MUCH if we’re also accommodated that you need to try and stamp us out!?

In short, 12 Jul 2024For those who can't read this fellow’s brilliantly wri... moreI, and millions of others who can't afford the expensive S24, would buy a phone with budget specs that has the same smaller size and lighter weight as the S24.
It would be a much more profitable investment on Samsung's part than all the phones they produce each year that are so similar to each other.

I hear quite a number of people and reviewers online complaining about the size of the bezels, and I can't help but roll my eyes.
I understand that thinner bezels make for a more immersive viewing experience and premium looks, but it's not like large bezels affect the usability and core functions of a phone. They may be distracting at first, but after a while, most people will stop noticing them anyway, just like how we're first introduced to notches, then punch-holes.

Anonymous, 13 Jul 2024Is there 5G+ in the A55, or only just 5G?Don't think it supports 5G+. Apparently "5G+ is AT&T's name for its mmWave and mid-band 5G networks". I'd be more interested in Carrier Aggregation on 4G bands.

I bought the phone two days ago. For the moment, I already regret the purchase. It is bloated with tons of unnecessary apps and the spying is beyond my imagination. The first thing the phone installed by itself when I turned it on was TikTok! The phone is getting hot by even playing Tetris or Idle Slayer. The charging is slower than my 7-year-old Mi Max 2!
