-The memory is just 16GB(Which is OK for today's standard,but you can only use 11. something.) [Don't worry the Philippine version is the FD which has a dedicated slot for an SD card up to 128GB]
-This phone can get mistaken with the S6 so watch out it might get stolen.
-Drop this on rocks and at most cases the back panel will break since rocks in your city arn't forgiving and usually are hard cement. [This is solved by buying a case]
- So far these are the only cons I see. if I still went on with the pros then it will reach the limit of words in the opinion section.

kumar, 22 May 2016witch is best smart phone, galaxy a5 2016 or galaxy s6, i ... moreThe S6 is of course better in all aspects. The S6 is the flagship phone of samsung, but it has been replaced by the S7 just so you know. Overall the S6 is still better in every way then the A5 just not the S7.

In antutu benchmark the exynos version is around 41k in score while the snapdragon version is around 35k something. (Correct my score if its wrong, but the exynos still scored better).
Snapdragon vs Exynos
-When going to the home screen:
Snapdragon kills the app and when you have to go back it reloads.
Exynos runs it like a champ without having to reload
-In games
The Exynos chip is slightly faster and less laggier then the snapdragon and this is proven by countless youtubers playing highly intensive games like GTA San andreas.
-At this situation
The Exynos chip is 1.6ghz Octa-Core processor,while the snapdragon processor is a slower Octa-Core processor with 1.2ghz and 1.5ghz. Why?
An Octa core processor uses a configuration that is Big.little. which means
When running a heavy app it uses 4 CORES ONLY (IT DOES NOT USE 8 CORES AT ALL) Same goes for lighter apps.
So when playing a heavy game it uses the quadcore 1.5ghz on the snapdragon WHICH IS SLOWER THAN THE 1.6ghz exynos chip.(All 8 CORES in the exynos is 1.6ghz)
How much more if it used smaller apps. The snapdragon would use 1.2ghz quad core chip WHILE THE EXYNOS IS STILL USING 1.6ghz.

The A5 VS A8
-Same processor
-Same Ram
-The A5 has a 13 Megapixel camera while the A8 has 16(The A8 has a better camera)
-The A5 has a smaller screen while the A8 has a bigger screen(Both 1080p just different size)
-The A5 has a smaller battery of 2900 mah while the A8 has 3050.(Though to bigger screen size the A8 may have a shorter life span, but nothing too big around 5%)
-The A5 has a SMALLER storage of 16GB internal while the A8 has a more modern storage at 32GB of internal storage.
-Both same body build(Metal)
-Both have the same features inside which are NFC,Bluetooth,Wifi Direct, etc.
-Price is of course higher in the A8 since it is a bigger phone with more materials used to make it.
-Both same OS 5.1 Lollipop
-The A5 has fast charging and probobly the A8 as well since it is comparable to a flagship smartphone. (I'm sorry I do not know very well about this one)
Over all it comes down to size. Both of these phones are very similar in almost everyway except size. Both same processor,GPU,capabilities,etc. The only extra the A8 has is the bigger screen size,storage,and a better 16 megapixel camera.(Also the release date of 2015)
I apologize in advance if anything I have said here may contain a bit of flaw even miss a few details since unfortunately for this certain phone the A8 I was not able to get hands on, but I assure you I researched well.

Gorilla glass 4 can only be broken by anything higher than 5-6 Mohs on the hardness scale. So metal wont scratch this. Bro, it will break at some point, yes, but have you ever asked those Finnish forum guys how it broke? Besides you can buy a case for only a few bucks.As long as you keep your phone in good hands it wont break easily even if it fell. Fall on hard concrete and it will break, but it still depends. If this is the case for you then every phone out there will break since some doesn't even have gorilla glass. Overall my answer to you if ever you're going to buy a phone is buy an S5 active or anything above it like S6 and S7 active. Those will not break easily. If your still scared then buy an old nokia 3310. Hardest phone out there. Good luck bro.

carom333, 19 May 2016Samsung A5 or J7? If you find good looks, better build quality, and a better screen then of course your going for the A5. The A5 is of course metal and very comfortable(As long as your good for a 5.2 inch phone) The J7 is of course friendlier to our pockets since it is lower in price and quality.
The A5 vs J7
-1920x1080p vs 1280x720p (The A5 has sharper and better screen resolution)
-The J7 has a 5.5 inch Screen while the A5 has a 5.2 inch Screen (BOTH SAMOLED)
Around same processor performance(Their both Octa core and judging by price range, should be nearly the same in performance.)
-Both LTE capable
-Both housing the same Camera (Front and Back)
-Both 16GB internal memory and capable of 128GB SD card support
-Both dual sim supported
-NFC supported by A5, Not supported in J7
-Fingerprint Sensor A5, none in the J7 (In my experience, the fingerprint sensor isn't really that usefull since the only thing you can use for it is security and payment wise, but over all it is one of the best fingerprint sensors I've used just not as fast as Flagships like S6 and S7, but ALOT FASTER THAN THE S5.)
-The J7 has a LARGER battery that is 3300 MAH while the A5 2900MAH.(Longer life in J7)
-The A5 has OTG support, not so sure with the J7(My apologizes)
So far, the j7 will be the best choice if your on a budget and want a bigger screen.If you want to look even cooler with all those extra accessories like fingerprint sensors and metal body build. Then the A5 if for you. Performance wise there isn't a big difference. Around 10% if you ask me(A5 is faster since it needs the power to run the 1080p screen). Gaming Experience in the A5 is in my opinion is Excellent. With that 1080p screen I can't ask anything better than a QHD like the S7(Too much for my pocket). Don't worry too much though. The J7 is still a good phone just not as good as the A5.

Gorilla Glass 4 is one of the toughest glass out there, even tougher than the glass on the iphone 6. As long as you don't go hiking with the phone I wouldn't see any reason for it to break easily.
