My biggest disappointment from this phone is a lack of gyroscope sensors. When I was not able to use SkyMap application. How it is possible that this middle class phone does not have the feature available even in cheap phones?

It still retails for INR21k+ in India.
Do you think it's worth it, or are there some competitors in this mid-range category worth considering?

my a5 2016 battery has puffed up, i can see the tempered glass on the back does not lay flat anymore. this morning my phone just froze. has anyone ever experienced this?

This phone has been designed beautifully. I love the gold version. It feels so comfortable in the hand, although it can be slippy without a cover. It is a phone for people who care about what their phone looks like more than the performance. The one thing I wished this phone had is a LED indicator, but it makes up for it with its amazing screen and fingerprint sensor.

Because of the Superior BB apps like BB launcher, Hub, BB Contact, BB Note etc. I have used them in my ON 7 Pro and A 5. And I found them very productive and useful. I am using Android apps for last 4 years and from my experience these apps are the best for any professional. Unfortunately they are not free. Free for first 1 month and than you have to pay 1$ for every month. At that price it sounds very reasonable, but not if you have a international debit or credit card which works with Google pay. So, I will advice you to go for the BB Dtek if you want to use these superb BB apps. Otherwise go for A5 if you want a new experience with android.

AnonD-625678, 28 Dec 2016Any idea on the release date of the new 2017 version?It is still not released here in India. But I think till the Summer or April it will be available. As April is festive season for the majority of Indian people Samsung must focus it. Anyway if you can wait than you will get a good deal. Otherwise A5 (2016) is a decent device for a normal user. It has good look, superb display, medium spec and most importantly it does not heat up like some other device.

a5 has diffrent version eu/asia version single sim is Eu version ,and duos is Asian version

Hey. I got this device as in gift few months back! Now this device has several issues.. its model number is A5F10D, i've visited samsung centers and none of them helped with anything as there is no local warranty.. its running on MM and issues are not detecting wifi, bluetooth or mobile data.. battery drains too fast even when the device is turned off.. can someone suggest any solution? If i downgrade the device with lollipop 5.1.1, it would be helpful??? Please answer anyone??

In first view you will not get major difference. But in detail there are many difference. I will advice you must go for A5 with Marshmellow or if you can wait for few more days than just go for A5 (2017).
