I've just received a minor 62 mb update that would bring stability and performance improvements , error corrections and some new function. I also have now 1st October security version. Nice we keep on having improvements

Anonymous, 02 Nov 2017I don't know why I see a lot of complaints about front came... moreyou are lucky coustomer here in india it's not happening like that ,front shot is alwyas blur . And that is the quality check issue.. they have used C9 pro camra in à5 2017 for cost cutting .. they have passed the position quality check but not assembly lengh quality check. i dont understand how samsung is missing these things. and for your information the handsets relased in india is having this issue .strange but true

AnonD-272063, 31 Oct 2017Any one facing front camera blur issue while taking selfy? ... moreI don't know why I see a lot of complaints about front camera background being blur.Maybe different strokes for different folks but my front camera is the best part of my A5 2017 experience. I find it super cool and clear. If it's too closecsimply use the panoramic view it is pristine clear and I use voice control when taking selfie so I don't have to struggle with my fingers getting a perfect image. Got mine in Berlin and it's super fantastic. I rarely even use the back camera.

Nobody understand why Samsung took the weird decision to take that aproach with the front camera, specially when the ones in the J series (J5 - J7) have lower resolutions but much better focus. Even the front camera of the A3 2017 works betters! So, this phone ain't for selfie lovers (who are legion by the way).

It appears when my phone is already dipped in the water for 1 min. Notification disappeared after 5 hours. Just make sure it's completely dry before charging. Even if you don't get the notification, keep it away from charging for at least 6 hours just to be sure you are safe.

It's focal point ain't "infinite" (everything in focus no matter the distance) but instead it has a fixed, very close, focal point... So is a useless camera if you intend to use it with a selfie stick. It's only for close caption (30 cm aprox) shots. As I mentioned in another post, that's why they included a "panorama selfie" mode where you keep the phone close and tilt to the sides to include more people on the image. But background will always be blurry.

That's why it includes the "panorama selfie mode" so you can include a group of people faces keeping the phone close enough so teverybody is in focus. A better aproach for selfie cameras is the "infinite focus" used in other devices, where most of the scene is in focus no matter the distance. Thats why an 8 mp front camara with a better focal point should have been the choice of hardware for this phone... And PDAF for the main camera!
