Finally Samsung launches a winner in the budget market. Great news. Hopefully it will be a trend for other flagship makers. Thumbs up Samsung.

I wonder why Samsung cannot make this phone by itself and had to have it made by a chinese company. Looks like an old Vivo or Oppo phone indeed. Hope it won't be the same crap.

I'm Chinese, I can read Chinese, and there is NO indication from the launch that the A6s has an AMOLED panel. This is a lie that has been lifted from some English website where the author does not understand Chinese and probably mixed up the A9s announcement, which has a very obvious AMOLED announcement, with that of A6s which does not have it. But that is the problem with news sites nowadays, it's the blind leading the blind.

To be very safe, check out Engadget's China news team reporting, which makes ZERO mention of A6s having an AMOLED panel:

I know this phone is not made by Samsung but an ODM. So I'm questioning the build quality if it's similar to the Samsung manufactured phones. I had bad experience with ODM since the phone I bought in the past has good build quality but the android os has malware connected in the settings app. This phone has a Samsung brand so I'm expecting this phone to run like an original samsung.

Well done Samsung.. Well done.. You have me reeled in.

However, this move brings to my mind some questions. Real life experience as of late shows me that Samsung still has a solid loyal customer base that isn't going anytime soon. The reasons are that it's a well-established brand and that it's not some Chinese manufacturer. While these two reasons make my blood boil, it still holds true in my environment and I expect that Samsung can hold it's original position for longer, if not much longer.

So, why the change of heart, Samsung? Does this imply that your competitors have become threatening enough that you have barged into their arena with a phone that speaks their language? Is it that even your flagships aren't quite cutting it with the profits as of late?
