One UI is still is a better skin overall but MIUI also has its advantages - its the best in extensive theming bar none, and the smoothest and most fluid interface around even for phones with low end processors, so much more when the processor is flagship level.

That's why I advise that teen to go for iPhone 11 pro max or Samsung S20 ultra 5G & don't compromise for anything less.

I own both phones except that the Poco F2 Pro that I have is the more expensive 256GB version. The Poco F2 Pro is a MUCH, MUCH better phone overall for the price in terms of build quality, camera and video performance, screen, and gaming performance. It has a much better screen (punch hole free, HDR+ compatible) and has bigger battery (and faster charging too!) than the Samsung A71.
However, the A71 can do many things the Poco F2 Pro can never do: expand storage up to 1 TB and encrypt the expanded storage, screen share offline Netflix movie downloads to big screen TV's, choose and connect to the user selected LTE bands only, share a hotspot with hidden hotspot name, and play FM radio, no LTE data needed.
In the end, it's all about what you value more and which features you are willing to give up in exchange for others.
As for me, my Poco F2 Pro is my main phone now while the Samsung A71 is my backup phone.

Brands and image rule their world and they confuse between real vs. perceived performance and value. They have that burning desire to be 'in' with their rich friends and classmates; to belong with them and to be identified with the rich (and pretending to be rich) iPhone and iPad toting demographic who are popular in school for owning a $1000++ iPhone. In the meantime, their dads pay for their luxuries and tuition fees while themselves (their dads) settle with an upper midrange android phone like the Samsung A71. Kids...

I am about to buy a smartphone for my husband'... moreI would suggest go for Xiaomi for mid range and lower range phones, as these have good flagship qualities. Xiaomi Note 9 Pro/ 9T stands as an excellent Phone, way better than Note 8.
A71 is on the higher spectrum, although with similar spec as Note 9 Pro, but i guess it obviously beats the heating issue that comes with Xiaomi products.
Both A71 vs Xiaomi Note9 Pro have similar features, Decide based on Interface, and your price bracket.

hi guys
I am about to buy a smartphone for my husband's birthday and I want to choose between Samsung A71 and Xiaomi redemi note 8 pro , I don't have any special insistence for any of the brand eight now , loving or hating one of them.
In my country the economic situation is very bad and the prices are rising very fast so I must buy it as soon as I decide.
He doesn't want very good phone with special features , the camera isn't important , he is not a gamer . He just want to use for routine daily work , the battery and not having bugs and stops are important.
I myself doesn't like the plastic case of the A series of samsung and I think that much difference of the price is not logical between these two choices , but I don't have any experience working or having Xiaomi's smartphone.
Could you please help me decide?

Hi. I compared my a71 to my new poco f2pro. All i can say is that the pocof2pro just does better in all aspects except the UI and that the a71 weighs lighter. I learned to love the samsung ui. But the twist is, both my a71 and pocof2pro cost almost exactly the same in our country (PHL).
