replaced, interm of build quality A71 is far ahead of Redmi Note 9 Pro,
If you put a plastic case to your phone then it doesn't matter the back of the phone is glass, metal or plastic...haha

To be brutally honest though, the camera is definitely outdated in my JU. The storage capacity and ram is also the worst considering it's 2021.
But for a normal person who only uses a few apps, doesn't do gaming and too much social media, I think an old J7 2016 is still a good choice. It's still good, but not for the geeky and techy users.
And yeah, I'm here because I'm thinking of buying myself an A71. 😊💖

Display:
I saw its display comparison with Samsung Galaxy S8 having AMOLED display, and apart from pure blacks, the difference in display quality wasn't that different.
I actually enjoyed Mi 10T display more because of smoother display, and its lcd is better than normal lcds.
Camera:
All good camera phones use Sony camera sensors, including Xiaomi, Samsung, and even Apple. So I'm not sure what you meant by Chinese cameras?
Mi 10T supports all those video modes with good quality, and it also supports Google Camera.
As for rest of hardware, the phone seems decently water tolerant, and works fine after being 5 minutes of staying under water.
Software:
I'm also worried about software, but Xiaomi phones have a lot of custom ROMs. There are already people using custom ROMs on Mi 10T, so if I run into a problem, I can just switch to them.

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2021I'm trying to choose between Xiaomi Mi 10T & Galax... moreDifferent people has different features, for me a A71 take good low light photos & superb GPS, Best UI in the market, I don't need 4K shot or whatever, ya..SD card slot is a must for me, same goes 3mm Audio Jack since I still has tons of wired earphone & don't intend to invest in a wireless.
For serious Video I rather use a camcorder or a compact camera for serious photography, same goes I would use a calculator rather than phone calculator for my work, a phone is still a phone for me, it doesn't replace other gadgets in my life.

I'm trying to choose between Xiaomi Mi 10T & Galaxy A71. I've some questions about its camera. I'll be happy with "Yes/No" answers.
i) Can it record 8K in 30FPS?
ii) Can it record 4K in 60FPS?
iii) Can it record 4K with its Ultra-Wide Camera?
iv) Can it record 1080p in 60FPS?
v) Are 4K videos with Eis/Stabilisation? Including 4K from ultra wide camera?
vi) Are 1080p@60FPS with Eis?
viii) Does Gcam (Google Camera) work on it without Root?
Xiaomi Mi 10T offers all of the above with Snapdragon 865 chipset, bigger battery, faster charging, 144Hz display, with glass back + aluminium frame, and features like IR Blaster, so I'm really liking it.
Only downside to Mi 10T is lack of card slot & audio jack.

Kind of yes. Things get worse for USA, and Xiaomi decreases prices of their phone like Huawei did for Nova 7i. And rest of world ends up getting better phones in lower price :)

Here in my country Oppo Reno 5 cost 150USD more than A71, Most of all we can only expect 5G in 2025, that's why Oppo Reno 5G is basically DOA here, in fact nobody want to pay for 5G phone since is useless for the next 4 years.
