Plus, GT's chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, doesn't have a good reputation about thermal management and battery efficiency.

Too many negative comments. It's a pretty dependable phone for daily use if you ask me. Unless you are a gamer or a camera freak, this one I believe beats any other units at the mid-range market.

Using the phone for 4 months. Excellent. Flawless. Nice camera. Durable, sturdy construction. Large 6.7 display. Stable OS. Go for it without a doubt. I normally am used to use a phone with flip cover with screenguard too. Phones remain looking better for long with a flip cover. I spent 1000/- for the cover. It's worth it. Just heard display replacement has a price tag of INR 10000/- ...its better to use an excellent cover to protect the original display.
