Anonymous, 16 Feb 2023Is the A52s supposed water resistant? How did it get water ... moreCause I have accidentally dropped the phone into the bucket while taking shower. (long story) The bathroom lightbulb burnt out and it was from old design, so I rely on my a52 flashlight as lightbulb. A few times "Moisture Detected" is okay but there's a limit on how many times it can be damaged, on my case it was so severe till it was too costly to repair it. Here's the list of damage:-
1) The screen is "untouchable"/no touch response, Bright vertical lines, white color cast on screen
2) Motherboard feels hot even it's in airplane mode.
3) Can't detect SIM card but WiFi still okay
4) Battery drain so fast like 15% per hour in Airplane mode and without any apps running in the background. Might be battery leaking I guess.
5) Moisture accumulated in the main camera lens.
6) Speaker emits unpleasant flickering sound, will hear the same sound when using the headphone
Lesson learned:-
Invest a good quality full body waterproof case. Don't wait until it happens..

Why this has a bad camera compared to the A53?? It has the same chipset as the A52s but still the camera ain't good.

I owned both a52s and a73. I bought a73 because my a52s had water damage and it was beyond repairable. It have the same specs like a52 but much WORSE camera than a52.
No 2x optical zoom only digital zoom, the quality is just blurry and noisy than my a52. In a52, I still can read the text from the test shot while in a73 is just like smudged, less detail, with bright artifacts on the text edge so noticeable when I zoom into it. The pixels in a73 look overprocessed, oversharpenned than a52s. Both photos taken from the same distance and lighting and appalled by how horrible it was. I have already bought the phone, can't return it, and now I really regretted it. You can buy better phone at this price range and we don't need macro lens and depth sensor for daily usage, we just want a better night mode camera/image sensor, ultrawide, but no optical zoom? That was a scam.
The a73 is overpriced, swapped with lower quality lens so people will be persuaded to buy their flagship entry level S22/23 phone.. It was my hard earned money and now have to live with it.🤬

Please 🙏, when will samsung UI 5.1 software update coming to galaxy A73.5g and galaxy a51.4g this very year. Honestly i can't wait to get this software updated in my 2 galaxy smartphones as soon as possible.

Bought one 128/8 GB for girlfriend at 450 euros with free 25W charger. Great phone, no problem. Very good screen, fast, and Samsung UI is the best...Samsung quality, love it. No need for 1000 euros phones...

They take parts from different manufacturers and contract them to other factories to assemble it. So yeah, there isn't a single OEM is building a phone 100% on their own.
