The phone warms a little bit wen playing intensive games such as Batman Injustice. I have not experienced the warming in other game though. Make sure your internal memory is not clogged up.

Previously, playing Pokemon Go before updating to Marshmallow, scrolling through the pokemon bag wasn't laggy. But after updating, everything lags, every single game's FPS drops. Very disappointed with this Marshmallow update. Isn't it supposed to be perfectly tested before rolling out the update to A7(2016)s devices?

It's not something that can be avoided on that phone. The GPU in that phone is extremely sub-par, has terrible shader performance (due to the MP2 configuration) compared to the competition and any recent games will put a lot of strain and pretty much cause thermal issues.
