CanSam, 30 Jul 2018Hey, has anyone with the Dual SIM version updated to Oreo? ... moreI have this mobile (Dual Sim) for 2 days now and after the set up and installation of standard apps I was directly able to upgrade to Oreo via Software Update. And yes, I do now have a Wi-Fi calling option.

I bought this phone two days ago and recieved it yesterday, as of so far I am happy with the overall speed, display, storage, software and the feel of the phone. It works well and I haven't experienced any lag so far, even though I have only used it lightly those two days (social media, videos and casual games, nothing too heavy). The battery life is kind of meh, I'll get through a day but I kind of expected more of a new mobile.

But next to that, everything is well so far and I hope it wi stay so for a long time in the future :)

I am also happy with the premium feel of this phone. Before this I only owned budget phones (J3 2016, Trend Plus) and I am really satisfied with the premium features and accessoires that come with this device even though I got it for a pretty affordable price (€320).

I hope I helped some people with this quick summary of my experience so far. I would recommend this phone to all casual users who just want a modern nice looking phone with handy features, and that of course can run the standard apps for communication and amusement.

      Hello to everyone.
I Bought A8, 4 days ago, and yesterday i updated to oreo, i like how it looks but nothing more. I am prety disappointed with battery life from begining. I bought phone at Canarian Island-Spain.
Estimated battery life every day is about 6-7 hours using phone. I only use for massages on viber, whats app, or instagram...Nothing more...Maybe some calls.. I dont know if i need to take back o the shop and ask for another one?Is this normal? I had before model, Samsung Galaxy A5 (16). and battery was much better, lasts about 2 days maybe.
      Thank you!

I'm from Indonesia, the phone received Oreo update the moment I bought the phone (last week). The phone is ok, no overheating, battery life will cruise through the day with no problem ( I am a medium user, social media, youtube, chatting but no game).

For people still deciding between S8 or A8, I can say that you should go with A8. With much cheaper price (A8 = US$365, S8 = US$570 in Indonesia), you get an amazing build quality, great display, better battery life, IP68 rating, correct placing of fingerprint sensor. The only cons are camera and design compared to S8.
I was afraid that I would regret buying A8 because of the design, but turns out the build quality itself is satisfying enough.

CanSam, 30 Jul 2018Hey, has anyone with the Dual SIM version updated to Oreo? ... moreI'm from romania. I received the update for oreo. After the update, my CPU is all overheated and the battery gets very hot ... I do not know what else to do, because otherwise the phone is great but the oreo update has destroyed it

Hey, has anyone with the Dual SIM version updated to Oreo?
I believe my model is from Panama so it hasn't received the update yet, but I have seen this reported only once and I want to know before I travel abroad next month: does the update also bring WiFi Calling to the SM-A530F/DS?
                      Thanks!

I have owned the phone for about a week now. I must say that i do not really like. I will probably get it replaced. It has got a lot of problems. The main problem is the speaker cut out on which GSMArena has made a post about. Some of the other problems i have are connectivity issues and USB port moisture alerts while the phone is obviously dry but that isn't a really big problem because its really fixable; just restart your device. The connectivity issues really bother me. When you are watching videos horizontaly if you place your hand on the top of the device you can see the WiFi bars
instantly go down. It is pretty intwresting to see how the bars just go up and down when you place your hand on and off of the device. Something else that bothers me is the version of Android that it is running on; Nougat. Considering it got released in 2018 it is pretty bad that it is still on Nougat. I know they recently started rolling out Oreo but still. So, with all of that said I would not recommend the phone if you are a big audio listenner and if you use internet often.(which most people do)
