Since Oreo update for A8 is almost sure, we bought one for wifey. We were also considering Nokia 7+ but went for the more expensive A8 since we had some good exp on Samsung's durability (software update suck tho). Was able to use it for a week and some of important things I found out in comparison to my old A5(6):
1. Front camera of the my A5(6) when taking pictures was much better due to its OIS (A8 does not have OIS). If you take picture on a stand/ tripod or anything stable, then the picture of the A8 gets way better than the A5.
2. Battery of the A8 is superb. Lasted for about 2 days at regular use - no heavy gaming (using 1 sim and a memory card)
3. Watching youtube feels awkward to me, maybe the screen size or the full view
4. The form and material has a premium feel to it
I would have tested its IP68 rating but better judgement took over me and decided to just leave it alone.

Phones released in 2017, got Oreo. Phones released after galaxy a8 comes with oreo. This shit is stiil with Nougat. Samsung?!! never again. This is the last one.

Without lag and super fluid. A8 is still on Nougat and all the time there is little lag on the animations. It's pretty clear that the optimisation for A8 is bad with Nougat. So I hope that A8 will be amazing just like A3 with Android Oreo.

But how come the batery is not stable? What i mean is it cant be that way and i never heard or experience anything like that before. It's either good normal or bad. Just not like sometimes good and sometimes bad, at least not in normal usage pattern. Care to elaborate? Thanks

I had the p10 for 2 weeks and exchanged it for a8 and i really regret it.
The only knock on the p10 is the battery but besides that it beats the a8 in every department

The battery sometimes drain very fast then expected even when using for casual use.
About the back camera,if tou want to take photo make sure your hand is steady if you dont want the picture to look blurry.
But overall i give it 8/10
