Anonymous, 19 Aug 2020Using the mobile from 2017. No updates as yet to activate ... moreIt is frustrating that Samsung and gsmarena has purposefully ignored this phone and changed its status as discontinued.

If this phone (A9 pro 2016) gets any update ... moreUsing the mobile from 2017. No updates as yet to activate
a dual SIM Let or 4 g. Only 1 SIM as lte/4g while the other as 3g/2g, though interchangeable. Only reason of looking to change my phone. If a single SIM user it is still a wonderful phone.

LeviSanvictores, 21 Jul 2020I bought the Samsung A9 Pro 2016 from a guy in Facebook Mar... moreI will always use slow charging cables (after disabling the quick charging mode) to charge my A9 pro 2016 at approx 700 mA* to 900 mA* for 8 or 6 hours.
I am having the old original charging cable that came with LG G3 charger. That charges at 1200 to 1800 mAh* which is nearly fast charge. This cable will charge at approx 200 to 900 mA if you are continuously using the phone (watching videos, browsing etc) during charging. I will use this cable only in such cases.
Same way I will use normal charge for my Samsung Note 4 SM-N910G and will charge my phone at less than 900 mA for 4 or more hours.
* means : When the phone is idle (display off) in the single SIM 3G only or 4G VoLTE mode with only either mobile data or WiFi turned on when in a stable place with strong network signal. Not travelling. Rest all are at off state (sync, bluetooth etc).
Note : Do not use fast charging or high current to charge the battery. It will spoil its life.

I bought the Samsung A9 Pro 2016 from a guy in Facebook Marketplace last July 9, 2020. I was using Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Duos. Specs are superb except the battery. With the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro 2016, you got on your hands a 5000 mAh battery phone. It has fast charging capability. I am using "Bavin Quick Charge 3.0." I read an opinion here not to use Quick charge. I have been using it since I got my hands on this humongous piece of tech. It may not be that great compared to other phones but here's what I noticed. I don't care if it only has 4GB of RAM and 32GB of Internal memory. Battery matters most for me now.
Start charging time using Quickcharge 3.0 = 18:00
Fully charged at 20:45
Went 99% at 23:45 while I was connected to wifi, browsing the web and FB then I listened to FM radio. Yes, you read this right. A phone this big in which you are to use both your hands is equipped with an FM Radio. 1% decrease in 3 hours and 15 minutes.
When using it, it gives me 1 and a half days of battery juice while connected to wifi, listening to FM, playing racing Asphalt 8 and watching online videos. Now, I no longer fear of getting low battery notification even if I go out for hours. By the way, I haven't used Power Saving mode. I am using it...just like the way I am supposed to use a smart phone.

yahaah, 28 Jun 2020does anyone use any head chargers that support Quick Charge... moreI am using Bavin Quickcharge 3.0
It took 2.5 hours to charge my 5000mAh phone from 6PM to 8:30PM.
From 100% at 8:30PM (normal use), it went down to 99% at 11:30PM.
I am listening to FM and it's still at 99%.
I bought this phone from someone I met in Facebook Market. I've been using this for 11 days and very much satisfied. Camera may not be that great compared to my former Samsung Note 5 Duos but the battery is nothing compared to any. My Samsung A9 Pro 2016 is always connected to wifi with frequent gaming, listening to FM radio and watching videos online. Still, this gives me 1 and a half days of battery use. Now I no longer need to worry about losing battery charge and I can maximize it's use on a full day or more. It's 12:01 AM now, I'm listening to FM radio and it's still at 99%.

I wonder why they have discontinued such a good phone. In fact Samsung should make such phone and stop using cheap plastic frames and panels just to make more profits. Phones with glass panels front & back with aluminum frames have better network, blue-tooth & wifi signals.

Samsung only provides a maximum 2 OS upgrades or 3 in rare cases. There is nothing to become disappointed about Samsung.

yahaah, 28 Jun 2020does anyone use any head chargers that support Quick Charge... moreStop using quickcharging.
I always disable that and use slow charging cable and charge from 600 to 900 mAh for approx 10 or 6 hours.
I charge my Samsung Note 4 at 300 to 600 mAh for 8 to 10 hours approx. I have old LG G3 charging cable that charges at 1200 or 1800 mAh. But I will use this only if urgent (less than 5 to 10 times in a year).

TO ALL SAMSUNG A9 PRO 2016 USERS
Who face screen flickering, i recommend you first of all Make sure you use Original phone wallpaper in both home screen and lock screen, And in all apps try to use the original wallpaper/background,
My A9 Pro 2016 too had this problem for a long time, i changed a display, but after a week it happened again,
Finaly i guessed it might be due to higher resolution apps and wallpaper,
The first thing i changed the wallpaper to see my guess,
ON TIME the problem solved since there,..
Soo it seems this is due to resolution problem, the phone fail to compete with the resolution of a wallpaper selected, but also a picture with a lot of details/too many mixture of colour to capture by pixels,
AM SORRY for My English, am not good At this.
