It's 555 mb 'cause 213 mb is already used to run your OS :)You never get what is said on the spec, 'cause OS needs ram to run on.. Common sense! This phone is just like many other phones...

I have this phone anf i can say the following. As all androids, hard to type compare to iphone and windows phone. Bad camera really slow. Battery:nothig great, charges faster than others. Voice commands same as S2. RAM is bad. Only 555 for applications of the 768 of total. Uf you are going to. buy a S2 OR S3. DONT. Better this one unless you need a fastbcamera. But paying 180 dollars more???? I really dont agree.

AnonD-83765, 30 Nov 2012is that true ? ohh my, i'm just about excited to buy it but... moreDont let it put you off! Like ive said if you get phone with 512mb ram then actual is only 350mb max! So Ace 2 is best in price range for ram and you also get micro sd support! Also lower clocked nova thore means better batterylife! Yes ace 2 isnt the best looking phone but its more practical in real life than phones like the Xperia U!

VinDee, 29 Nov 2012Only 2.3GB Memory not 4GB and not 768MB RAM but 555MB RAM !This is the same with many phones! If you get xperia U with 512mb ram then actual ram is only around 300mb! 2gb of internal memory is also used just like ace 2!

VinDee, 29 Nov 2012Only 2.3GB Memory not 4GB and not 768MB RAM but 555MB RAM !RAM is RAM. RAM on your phone is not significantly different than RAM on your desktop, your notebook, your netbook, etc.
                          This construct has
remained relatively stable in its use for the past few decades,
particularly once we escaped from the mainframe. Running
programs (OS and end-user apps) consume RAM, but only while they are running. And RAM
gets wiped on a reboot, on phones as much as on your
                          desktop.
Now, your average desktop, notebook, or netbook also has a
hard drive for more permanent storage than RAM offers. There is no absolute term for the equivalent in Android -- I tend to use "on-board usb/flash storage" for it, others call it "internal storage", though as you will see, the latter term is fraught with confusion.
Just like a hard drive, on-board usb/flash storage is used for the OS (a.k.a., firmware in Android), end-user programs (a.k.a., APK files in
Android), and end-user data (a.k.a., databases, shared
preferences, and other files stored where getFilesDir() is
                          located).
The on-board flash storage is divided into a few partitions. If you're a Windows user,
partitions is basically saying "your hard drive is broken into C:, E:, and F: drives". In Android, one
partition is dedicated to firmware, and another partition
(the "data partition") is dedicated to the end-user programs and data. (NOTE: the preceding description is not entirely
accurate, but the discrepancies are well beyond the scope of this answer).

I have found something interesting on web..
it's true that galaxy ace 2 already underclocked to 800mhz from start? Novathor u8500 was 1ghz, never knew any novathor with 800mhz
