AnonD-34609, 19 Apr 2012well galaxy y dnt have gpu...ace atleast hv adreno 200Thats correct. But I find no reason why Ace lags with games, even though it possesses a GPU...that is what makes it a rag.

I have been using this phone for about 1 month..bought it from Samsung store for Rs12500.

I have seen so many people asking here about battery..here's my experience...if you switch off GPRS/3G, WIFI, GPS - battery easily lasts for 1-2 days with around 2 hours talking, 1 hour music, 1 hour games per day.

So if you absolutely need data services continuously all day long, don't buy this phone. But like me if you just need to browse internet for maybe 30min/day then go for it. No other mobile gives you specs like Gorilla glass, 800Mhz, Gingerbread etc at this price.

To all those who are thinking about getting this handset and have big dreams in their eyes, i would ask them to read the next few lines. For those who already got this have got nothing but to admit whatever follows next.
The phone gives you an IPhone look and you feel if apple can make a look like this, why cannot i even get cheap replica.I thought the same and hence i am using it for the past 6 months now. My worst investment ever. Every day with this phone seems to be a waste. Well, with Android, I must tell you one fact. If ever you want to buy an android, I would recommend to buy a high range handset. These cheap plastic toys are nothing but disappointment and embarrassment. Or else, you should buy the cheapest one available (Galaxy Y, et al). Now, to begin with,
Processor: 800 MHz (guaranteed overclocked, as by SetCPU, you wont find it at a stable state past 870MHz). You will need to use SETCPU (and therefore rooting too)to make sure that this piece of waste does not hang every now and then. It lags a lot. In comparison to Galaxy Y, it has the same processor (Galaxy Y ca b overclocked to 1000MHz), lesser RAM, better camera and bigger screen.
Screen: The 3.5" display is nothing but a disguise and you wont be able to see a thing in bright sunlight (if you want to save your battery and keep the brightness to the lowest, which my friend, is a must). The screen drains a lot of battery otherwise too. The edges are not clear also but the touch is responsive.
Battery: Worst part of this phone. A mere 1350 Mah will not suffice if you are using data all day long. You can survive with this only if you got a charger in your pocket and a socket in the wall. A minimum 2 times charge a day. Battery calibration, juice defender dont help a bit.
Camera: One of the only positives of this phone. You will like it as it is not too good, but not too bad either. It will surely do.
Performance: Without rooting, assume that this phone will be a bag full of frustrations for you. Once rooted, you can get the guarantee back, this is not the issue. The issue is that you will need to clock the processor and set it to a constant 800MHz all day long. This will fire up the battery. So, the choice is upto you. Either suffer a beyond-imagination-lagging performance or sacrifice your battery.

The bottom line is, as I said before, if you want android, go for a costlier one. With good specs. With around 13k, it is nowhere different from a phone half its price (Galaxy Y, only diff being camera and screen, RAM is even smaller). Windows phone is not an option as if you buy them now, you wont get the Apollo update and if you buy them otherwise, you will have bluetooth and file manager issues in plenty.
As they say, you gain some, you loose some. with this phone, you gain nothing and lose a lot close to what i wrote.

shit fone. application keep running bringing your bills to intorable limit if you have GPRS. no operating mannual supplied with the phone how to deactivate running application. even if you deactivate an application it gets activated automatically without alerting you which inflates ur bill. never take it for international roaming as no network operator warns you to deactivate gprs data
