I have been using Samsung Ace S5830 for last one and half years and i had to charge it every day.But last week i replaced a new battery which was Taiwan made.After replacing the battery i changed some of the settings like Zero Brightness,3G to 2G network and disabled the Bacgkround data option.And now its giving me 2 and half days battery backup.

it's swift and handy...but some new app not compatible with it, despite of it's capability for higher OS update.

MasterS, 26 Oct 2013Very very laggy phone. Very slow for the price. if you see... moreIt is true. It is an old phone so it was typical for it's time. The Ace 3 is out now and looks good. Otherwise the Sony Xperia GO looks like a good modern phone for this price range/class.

susie q, 26 Oct 2013would like to up grade phone memory. how can I do it I posted an opinion, look into it. You must be brave and tech savvy to do, but it is possible to "fake" a memory upgrade with a fast sd-card.

There are some unofficial ROMS based on CM10/Android 4.2/Jelly Bean for this phone but it is not recommended because the phone has limited RAM and internal memory - You will slow the phone down and the battery will drain faster.

I have this phone for almost 2 years now. Great little phone except for the small internal memory. To bypass/fix it follow the following steps: Get a fast SD Card - more than 2GB, backup the one you have because you will wipe it. Root the phone and install CWM5. Partition the card in CWM boot menu. Create a partition bigger than 1GB -bigger the better, keep swap smallish or none. Then copy onto the visible part of the card The Ultimatum ROM (a CM7.2/Android 2.3.7 based rom). Install it through the CWM boot. In the installer use the SD-ext option, the partition you created on the SD card will now be added and the Android OS will think it is part of the internal memory. NEVER REMOVE THE CARD WHEN THE PHONE IS ON. The phone will take longer to boot, but my Ace think it has 2GB internal memory, and it is quick after boot.
My advice is a brief overview, spend the hour or two to study the guides on How to Root the S5830, The Ultimatum install procedure and the SD-ext plugin. All advice available on xda-devolopers site.
Note: You are possibly voiding your warranty if you follow my advice - read up on how to install the official Samsung ROM through Odin (also on xda) if you need to take the phone in, reverse everything or bricked your phone. Also all data (incl contacts, messages, photos, videos, whatsapp archives etc) and apps on phone and sd card will be lost so back them up with Titanium or similar tool, and copy the contents to your PC. Make sure that the SD card is fast, I had a slow card on my GF's phone and the phone froze until I bought a new card and started over.
