Hey guys!!!
Has anyone tried playing an .avi/Dvix/Xvid file on this phone??Can u play these files using any app???
Also could any user tell which kind of earphones are provided with this model?Are they the same earphones as in Galaxy 3?And is ace based on WCDMA or HSUPA?

This phone will not show problems at first, because a new phone with no apps installed will have a clean memory, and hence smooth performance. Once you start using the phone for a few weeks and install more and more apps, you will notice the limitations of the 170 mb available RAM. The phone will lag like crazy. Even Samsung Galaxy S, with 512mb RAM and 1 Ghz processor starts to lag a little bit (not much) after heavy use.

Just letting you all know that this phone seems to have around 320 MB of RAM and not the "confirmed" 278 MB of RAM as stated by a user previously.
278 MB seems to be what's available to the user after system caching and reserved memory hence this is what the Samsung task manager will show you.

More free games and applications available than for any other operating system. iPhones have issues with antenna you know. I've been using Ace for a couple of days and i recommend this!

Already got a problem at the third day of use with Wi-Fi. The phone said "error" for Wi-Fi (WLAN, wireless internet connection) and I was not able to connect to any WLAN. After restarting the phone this problem vanished. Might have appeared because the stupid WLAN of our school gives connection first and then you need to put the password, so the phone thinks that it's connected but no data can be received by the phone. The password must be insterted to a web page and so it must be done with the browser. The phone does not let me easily to the username and password boxes to put the letters in them... I dunno why. When I click the boxes the page just refreshes. After clicking the box I have to quickly tap where the typing section would appear and then I may be able to write something, if I'm lucky. But this is not necessarily a problem of this phone, it might be just that the WLAN of our school is not very suitable for smartphones (though I have been able to use it).

if nokia made even just one phone with android as os, i think that would be a record breaker! but as for now we know that wont happen..too bad.. :(

But samsung galaxy ace offers great response with an 800mhz processor.Better you go for samsung galaxy ace.

samsung galaxy ace v/s wildfire which one is better can anyone reply for this....both look quite handy and i am on my first android......can anyone tell which one to go....thanx in advance

I bought Ace on Sunday 27Feb from Blr at 14900 and have been playing with it for the last 3 days. This is my first smartphone/touchscreen phone. So can't compare with other models. I was using a Nokia low-end phone till now. Th box had phone, battery, CD for Kiyes s/w, headphone (ear bud), leather pouch, USB cable, charger.
I went by the looks and the fact that it is Android. I am pretty happy with my decision till now. Features that I knew I was compromising are:
1. Arm11 instead of latest cortex - I am yet to see any performance issue till now.
2. Low RAM - As a user, I haven't faced issues till now. Without any activity, the status says165MB/278MB in use. With the "clear memory:, I can bring it down to 125MB. I tried few games like Raging Thunder lite - ran without any perf issues.
3. Screen resolution is only HVGA instead of current trend of WVGA. As a layman, cant make any quality issues.
4. Screen is normal TFT, non-oleophobic, no gorilla glass - misses these features a lot. The screen catches fingerprint very easily and very much visible when backlight is off. Being a rash user, I feel I would soon miss gorilla glass.
5. Video recording is only at VGA@15fps - I dont use phone for video rec. So not an issue.
+ looks, looks, looks good and gives a good feeling in hand :)
+ Very easy to setup and getting used to the menu and lot more features compared to my Nokia low-end phone.
+ Signal quality really good - was able to talk in the moving lift which I wasn't with my Nokia.
+ Usable like a PC - with a range of apps available in the market.
+ No need to carry charger - can charge through USB from PC -like ipod etc.
+ flash available for camera.
- The Kies software not able to load my phone contacts - fails after 51%. So to copy my contacts from Nokia to Samsung - used gmail.
- Once the phone lost the network and didn't come up at all till I restarted. Need to see whether it will happen again.
- Calls does not happen or other not able to call me once in a while - could be my BSNL SIM issue as well as I had faced same issues with Nokia too.
- With Wifi, GPS etc and some activities, battery goes down in half-day. With them off and used more like a phone (few calls only), the battery level was still close to 80% after a day.
- Screen catches fingerprints fast
- Wasn't too impressed with volume level of media even with Senheisser headphone.
- Though 5MP camera, image stabilization isn't there. Comparing with digcams from Sony.
