I don't own or didn't try a S5 mini but seems like you will get better battery on a S5 mini + water resistance.
And on Alpha, better performance (specially in heavy games), photos and videos (4K supported).

He doesn't even say his testing conditions : headset used (default ones indeed lack of clarity for music), quality of his friend music files, has he tried to mess with equalizer, or was adapt sound configured etc... People often say they tried their friend's phone but never say how

I own this phone since two months , this phone has very bad reception for the LTE and it has very bad bluetooth conductivity, the Bluetooth headset will continuously drop the voice and the person lessoning to you you will hear uncleared voice I had the go back to my Iphone 5s which has excellent reception of both network and Bluetooth

Battery life is good , don't worry .
It last long full day for me with 4 hours Scree n on time . Wifi always on.

Xmode, 23 Jan 20151860 mAh battery. Not ideal for a smartphone. Poor batterybuy extra battery kit..buy powerbank..or buy chinese phone with huge battery, will fix your absurd issue..
