JueJue, 04 Jun 2016My daughter bought me my Avant 2 years ago... now it's kind... moreHave you tried loading and using a "clean-up" app? I use Avast, I found it at the Google play store. I have not experienced any more slowing except when it's time to run the app again. Avast offers several different phone helpers and I have found the company to be trustworthy. I hope this helps you.

My daughter bought me my Avant 2 years ago... now it's kinda slowing down... I LOVE MY PHONE... what can I do to it where I won't have to upgrade and I can keep my Avant it does everything... No way I want to get rid of it... It's the only one that I really want to hold on to... HEEELP...!!!

I love my Samsung Avant but lately it seems to whistle or chirp announcing "Notifications" way too frequently!!!
The ONLY NOTIFICATIONS I want to hear about are incoming text messages!!!
I wonder if there's a way to TURN OFF ALL NOTIFICATIONS, except those for text messages???
Please post if U've had this problem, especially if U know how to resolve the problem.

I got my Samsung Galaxy Avant about a year and a half ago, and have had an ongoing problem ever since purchase. I talked to T-Mobile and they replaced it. I used the same battery. The replacement phone started having the same problem within a couple of weeks. The problem is it shuts down and restarts on its own. Obviously this causes dropped calls and interrupted operations of all sorts. The other issue is it gets very, very hot. Sometimes it happens when it is plugged in for charging. Other times, it will be as I'm talking or texting or playing a game. Does anyone know what causes these two issues? My husband has the same phone, so we switched batteries to see if it was a battery issue, and his had not had any problems at all. Mine continues to have these two problems.

Switched to T-mobile and bought this phone on clearance ($40) just to try out their cell service. That was over a year ago. I'm fairly impressed with the little thing. 16GB of storage and 1.5GB RAM is very generous for a budget phone. and It's pretty darn fast; even bloated, memory hog apps like Facebook open in less than 4 seconds. It had some hang-ups and glitches at first, but the latest revision of KitKat is absolutely perfect on this phone. Smooth as silk.
The display is a cheaper TFT display, and there is no auto brightness. Also, the camera. It gets the job done, but at 5 MP, it's nowhere near the caliber of an iPhone 6S or Galaxy S7, but that's expected in a budget phone.
It's got a nice rubberized back that slides into your pocket well, and it isn't gigantic so it's fully operable with one hand like my old iPhone was.
One other thing though, if you're tap-texting, if you go too fast it doesn't seem to work at all. Typing on an iPhone I can type as fast as I want and it seems to work fine. This one, I end up with nothing but typos. Guessing the touchscreen on this little guy is budget-grade, but swiping works fine.

I totally disagree with all of these comments . You need to read the phone menu in other to know how to used it. I CAN MAKE A 3 WAY CALL AND DO ALL OF THESE THINGS YOU GUYS ARE NOT ABLE TO DO WITH THE SAME PHONE. So pleas read the phone menu before posting negative comments about it, Thanks.

galaxy avant is way better because you get free apps and music unlike iphone where you have to purchase everything you want. And iphones are way overrated because your paying like 4-900$ for a phone and some people get them because they want to fit in with the crowd or other people.
