I bought the Avant last September because of the price and that it had just come out over the summer as a mid-level smart phone. Figured it was a brand new model from Samsung and I didn't need all the bells and whistles of a full blown smart phone, so I bought it. I paid for the phone upfront as it was just over $200 with my carrier, T-mobile. Right out of the box, I was on the phone with tech support constantly for a plethora of issues. Finally I told T-Mobile I shouldn't have to pay for a brand new phone that had so many issues that were never fixed. They agreed and reimbursed me for it. Bottom line, it's has alot of problems and don't buy it.

Don't ever get this phone!!!!! It's crap. I'm fed up with this phone! I've had it for 6 month's and there's loads of problems. If you like to take picture, the camera quality is awful!!!!! This is a great value s5 don't waste your money on this phone. 🙅🙅

Horrible phone. I can't stand the auto correct when typing. The S1 had a better system. The Internet setting options are crap as well. The screen is also garbage. The camera isn't add good as my S2. Overall I'd give the avant a 3/10

Better than 98% out there ! Needs to have Lg's Volume for sound , Needs to have Samsung's carmera and needs a step up or 2 in speed . But for the overall rating i give it an 8.But far as internal memory makes it better than 98% sold for this fact cause the rest of them run out of internal memory to fast because of downloading pictures videos music which this one dont and thats a very important fact on choosing a good reliable phone because if you buy a Lg with 1.3 of internal memory and you use all of it then your done phone lags phone wont work period .Same with more expensive phones make sure you look at the specs before you buy a phone if your not going download alot them the other 2% of phones are good for you i hope this helps you out and also if you need more help text my cell if your having any other issues 4078006530 be glad to help ..

This phone sucks I guess all metro PCs phones suck but the color on screen looks faded the sound quality not good I bought lg f60 that one is better n cheaper

This phone is a variant of the Samsung Rugby I used at work in Canada, and it works exactly the same. I went back to work in the US not long ago and wanted a similar phone, but had no interest in the s-series. This phone cost me about $140 out of the t-mobile shop outright, and with a bodyglove cover and a screen mask, should be about as rugged as the Rugby was, although not as weatherproof. I use the voice to text feature a lot, as well as tunein radio for music and have had zero issues with it. I have not yet tried the features in the latest version of android kitkat, but it does have both wired and wireless tethering to wifi for my laptop, should i need it. I drive truck for a living, so i will also install sygic for trucking as a navigation aid, and that program has worked well for me in the past as far back as my old verizon htc phone that ran on froyo. If you want a decent featured phone at a fair price outright, you can't go wrong with the avant. If you are on t-mobile, spare yourself the headaches with monitoring your usage and just get unlimited data, text, etc. Well worth the price you pay.

I got this Avant about 3 weeks ago. I am extremely happy with it. Let me say that I am not a terribly sophisticated tech user, but it does a lot of nice things for way less than the iPhone 6 or the problematic Galaxy S4. It goes beyond my basic phone needs, and I try new apps that help me progress.
The sound is clear. It takes great photos. So far, so good. Of course, I had my last phone for over 5 years...

I've read the reviews and wonder why everyone is having trouble. The sound quality is excellent (but sometimes when I'm on speaker, it might get a little staticy), the apps work perfectly, it takes pretty good pictures (though I'm not fussy about pictures because we use our regular digital camera most of the time), the battery life is okay; about a day if I'm using it all the time, the internet connection works well. The T-Mobile guy at the kiosk transferred all my contacts from my old flip-phone by bluetooth, and my husband and I transferred all my pictures from my flip-phone by bluetooth. We've even used bluetooth to transfer pictures from other people's smartphones. Now, I am not streaming videos or games, so that may be the difference. I would recommend the Avant, since it was very reasonable and just the right size for my hand.

It's takes a long time to come on after pushing the side button.it also comes on for a second then clicks right back off. There's about a 20 second pause before lighting up, God forbid I'm in need of assistance and need to call 911. Other than that it's been an ok phone, however not good incase of an emergency, Bc you wait atleast 20 seconds before it even lifts up after pushing the button.

I have this phone for 3 months. Dont NEVER EVER buy this phone. Before it I had a chinese brand phone, Far better than it,
There are better ways to waste your money rather than spending money on AVANT. especially on internet it is horrible

I bought this phone brand new. since ever I bought it I was unable to make use of the phone . the network was locked. and it cannot detect my Sim card... I have tried using device unlock to unlock the network permanently, but not working telling me the phone I connect the WiFi network from, is not compatible with my device, and it request a working data connection. so is there no other method on how I could unlock the phone without contacting the customer care because I bought from another country. so please tell me what to do

M, 17 Mar 2015I bought SAMSUNG AVANT two weeks ago and everyone complains... moreSome cell phone towers are comprised of Nokia products which is why your husband would have better reception than you or so I heard from a technician (I didn't fact check) but I did have a Nokia 3 years ago which had incredible reception even in places where you should hit a dead zone hope that helps. Also I just got an avant and haven't had any real issues I couldn't fix on my own I'm with t-mobile.

I bought this phone from Costco less than three months ago. I agree with all the other reviews of this phone I just read because it happened to me one time or another. Besides those, just yesterday, the screen has started to mess up. It cannot be put to the original settings and colors are all changed. I cannot even recognize my stored pictures even watch videos. I am taking it back to T. mobile first before to Costco.

Anonymous, 17 Mar 2015my mom bought this phone and it was really good its just th... moreWhatever you do, do not get the l70 it has MULTIPLE problems, such as, if you let it die, your apps will no longer work you will have to reinstall all of them, your pictures will be gone, it over heats a lot and it freezes way to much, which is why i am switching over to samsung, i originally came here to read reviews for the samsung galaxy avant

Runnn from this phone, it really sucks! After barely a month, the internet crashes frequently, and it beeps/chimes during calls for no apparent reason (no new texts, emails, or calls).
People complain about not being able to hear me, it drops the calls with excellent signal strength while talking to someone on their landline.

OH so i been seeing a lot of comments about not being able to hear, well it is because there is plastic over the mic and you need to remove it, its hard to see, also i see a lot of comments with people saying that can not get there phone to work correctly, but most of the issues are in the settings which can be changed, such as the screen rotation, or spell check and others stuff. so mess with your phone and settings and learn your phone, and you will find that most issues are with the user. Other than that, this phone is good for the price, it's no I-Phone or Samsung G 5, but will do the job and its a good phone for someone that is just starting out with a smart or someone that is not a big time user.

so did you take off the plastic around the mic, its hard to see, and many phones have this, and many people complain about not being able to hear you, well its because there is plastic there. Iphone and Samsung both have this
