Samsung Galaxy Book S announced - a Snapdragon 8cx laptop running Windows
Along with the Galaxy Note10 duo, Samsung also released the Galaxy Book 2 successor - the Galaxy Book S. It's an ultra-thin and lightweight computer running on the Snapdragon 8cx platform that offers full-fledged PC experience thanks to Windows 10 OS.
The Galaxy Book S offers a 13.3-inch Full HD touchscreen, Snapdragon 8cx chipset paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards up to 1TB.
A 42Wh battery provides the juice and Samsung promises up to 23 hours of video playback time. This suggests that you can probably easily make it through the day on a single charge under normal usage.
The notebook supports the Quick Charge 2.0 and Power Delivery 2.0 standards. And when it comes to connectivity, the machine doesn't need to rely on Wi-Fi all the time as it supports LTE Cat.18 cellular connection. Unfortunately, though, you'll have to rely on the single USB-C port as no other interfaces are provided.
For security, the laptop offers a fingerprint reader supporting Windows' Hello feature.
All of this is wrapped in a premium anodized aluminum-clad shell weighing just a 0.96 kg. It's also impressively thin measuring just 11.8mm in height.
Multimedia hasn't been overlooked with AKG-branded loudspeakers and Dolby Atmos tuning.
The notebook should arrive sometime during this fall in select markets in two colors - Mercury Gray and Earthy Gold.
