Great phone thus far. Coming from Nokia for the past several years, the build quality seems cheap (plastic, no gorilla glass, etc) but the hardware keyboard and Android experience are top-notch. The phone is never sluggish (I do not game, only use business apps, ssh and Firefox) as long as you keep tabs of running apps and close out of the ones you don't need. The UI is very responsive. The only major gripe is that the default Android font looks TERRIBLE on the low-res screen, so you have to find a different font that is suited towards lower resolutions. One minor complaint is that Android doesn't support true multitasking like Symbian did, but that OS is a dead end, I am more than happy to make that concession for a thriving app market.

Any idea how to change the keyboard layout? My Galaxy Chat worked fine, then suddenly started using a different layout for punctuation/special characters. For example, pressing the ! key results in a comma showing up, its like all the special chars got remapped. This is frustrating because I have to fish around pressing all the buttons to find the appropriate character (@ sign, !, commas, periods, quotations for example). Even after a factory reset, the issue persists.
Any advice is appreciated.

Shafiq, 19 Jun 2013can we type 'words' on the screen? Because.. I've watched a... moreI believe you CAN use an onscreen keyboard. But then, why would you want to use an onscreen keyboard in the first place, especially when a much better QWERTY keyboard is available on the phone? The onscreen keyboard will cover most of the phone's smaller screen.

can we type 'words' on the screen? Because.. I've watched a video from youtube, I'd seen a guy type them on the screen. But.. On the other hand.. Most of the videos (which review about Galaxy chat) said, ''you cannot type the words on the screen. Must use the physical keyboards.'' so?

hmm, can we type 'words' on the screen? Lets for example during typing a message.
Because.. I've watched few videos in youtube. Most of them said, (and I've seen them how they do it);
''You cannot type words on the screen and MUST use the physical keyboards.''
But.. Amazingly, One of the videos I've seen, said, ''you can use both on screen or keyboards to type words.'' and I watched how he typed it!Heho! So.. What will be the aswers then?
