Dear all Samsung Galaxy Chat B5330 user. I've read some people's opinions on this thread and I found a few confusion regarding to this model specification. Although there is a lack features on this phone but in my opinion, this model is actually good and worth for money.
1) Internal Memory 4GB issue.
Usable memory is actually 2.05GB and all apps will be installed to this partition while the other memory partitions are reserved for Operating System (Android 4.0.4). They should state how much ‘usable memory’ instead of total memory so that not confusing the customer.
2) Memory RAM 512MB Issue.
Galaxy Chat has usable RAM at 445MB from the actual size of 512MB RAM. Although this model has only 512MB but it capable to operate Android 4.0 very well and smoothly. Most all models have less capacity than the original size of RAM because of system threshold reserved.
3) Android apps can't move or install to external SD issue.
Samsung Galaxy Chat B5330 are using Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and unlike other older phone with only Android 2.2 (Froyo) or 2.3 (GingerBread) that has capability to install apps into external memory card. ‘Apps2sd’ or ’Link2sd’ are no longer functioning in ICS because of ‘internal SDcard emulation’ which is cannot move apps where’s already installed on 'internal SD card'. However you can stored your camera pics, video, audio and files to external SD card.
4) No GPU and cannot play games issue.
Galaxy Chat B5330 has single core 850Mhz CPU model ARMV7 (VFPv3) with integrated GPU Broadcomm Videocore IV-HW (support OpenGL ES-CM1.1/2.0). The chipset is fast enough to handle 2D/3D graphic and i'm very impressed of this model after i've run a few benchmark apps like AnTuTu, Quadrant, Nenamark 1 & 2 and Neocore where all results is really unexpected (fairly good for entry level phone). However not all games can be played since it's not recognized by certain games engine that cause failed to render physics and texture graphics. I've already tried installing simple games like Angry Bird Space, Fruit Ninja and Marble Blast 3 and it run very well and not lagging at all. Most games from Play Store can be installed and played without problem but if you really you wanna play high quality 3D games, i recommended you to choose phone equipped with GPU Adreno 205, PowerVR SGX 540, Mali 400 and nVidia Tegra.
5) Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates issue.
Currently 4.1 Jelly Bean are not yet available for this model but perhaps Samsung will release it on first quarter 2013 after all high end Galaxy phone series already got their 4.1 update. Don't be so excited because JB are not very different with ICS but only a few incremental update for more improvement of the performance and user interface.
- My conclusion:
I recommend Galaxy Chat B5330 to all of you because of the lowest price tag offered and just a little pricey with Galaxy Y but has more advantages such as CPU ARMv7 850Mhz, Android 4.0.4, 3.0inch screen, larger internal memory and RAM and also QWERTY keypad.

Its very good phone in 9K range.. But i am facing one problem which may be in all 4.0.4 version. it is after any upgrade may be firmware or any other app the mic of headset stops working and also headphone button stops working. I can hear voice of remote end in my headphone's speaker but my headphone's mic does not work so need to keep phone at front to send my voice to remote end. its quite annoying when i am driving or the phone is in my pocket..
I went to service center they just reset the phone th factory setting and all went good .. but after some time may be any upgrade the problem occurred again.. i have reset my phone three times.. it works after reset.. but its not good solution.
Plz let me know if anyone found permanent solution.

This phone has lags which is at times very annoying. my advise is not to install programs/apps which you do not need. you have to delete messages occasionally. obviously not suitable for game as its name connotes, i.e. only for CHAT. Do not install launchers (go launchers,etc..)
If you are planning to buy one, buy mine :)

internal memory is only 2gb.it does not fit the specifications listed. maybe the 4gb is for some other areas in Asia , but not here in the Philippines. Wish too that there were other color variants , but generally the phone is good . you can get it from Globe under there LTP plans , but with cash outs

the phone is great , but the battery performance is not quite good. if you continually use it for web browsing, streaming or playing games, then the battery could only last for almost 5 hours, which is not really bad at all but i wish samsung could have made it better.touch screen is good, response is quick and overall its a good phone. even if you are just using regular mobile data connection, you can watch you tube, or play fm radio live streaming without buffer. however this conditions depends on your area and your mobile network providers. in my case i am on globe , and it has a pretty good connection on most areas .
