i dont recomend this phone because i have this phone and it has poor graphics for games. i cant even play raging thunder. it is also very slow mobile.

Upgrading via kies is better than odin because your warranty will remain intact (if its still valid). For flashing via odin, you'll have to search for specific gingerbread build that samsung in your country is currently offering and that may be a bit difficult.
So, you better go with kies upgrading!

Sound quality when listening music over headphones is terrible comparing to my old Nokia 5310 XpressMusic. Phone keeps catching some pulsing noise. It is not so noticeable in noise environment during day, but it drives me crazy in quite environment (night or evening).
Radio quality is even worse. I can't listen radio at all - 20-30% is buzzing noise.
I tried various headphones, but got same issues. The more expensive headphones I used - more noise they captured.
I thought that maybe my phone is broken. But when I borrowed another phone I got same issues.

dodhy99, 21 Jan 2012It is one of the most cheap and shoddy Saumsung Android pho... moreI am quite a serious user of gio (rely on it from GPS navigation, watching live tv, communicating with friends via social app to daily email/message/phone call) and I tell you that it is a great phone (and pretty affordable too here in Pakistan).
Wifi issues are there on froyo so if you upgrade to gingerbread they are gone. Also the freeze/shutdown issue goes away with upgrading too.
As for battery issues then it depends upon usage. Sometimes I have charged my battery twice a day and sometimes after 2-3 days. It totally depends upon usage. But I agree that it doesn't have a remarkable battery timing.
I in no way tried to prove you wrong. Just wanted to tell others the solutions to the problems you faced.

Picture quality is nice too if exposure is good. Check the picture quality from gsmarena's picture quality tool. It offers many other features as well. If you're asking about camera flash then no it doesn't have that. However, you can install adobe flash on it.

It is one of the most cheap and shoddy Saumsung Android phones in the market. Horrible battery time and wifi issues are endless. Also freezes many times. Its just a toy for kids. No serious users. Dr Kamran Dodhy, Lahore, Pakistan.
