secondly, open the text msg inbox open goto the settings and make each thread limit to 5000 and that is maximum number of msgs each thread can hold. First 3 options in the msg settings are related to these settings.

As i m using only 2G networks ocassional use of wifi no gps no gprs nothing rite now .. and my phone actually give me 1.5 days i dont play many games since i m using it for the past 6 months i devised the way to lengthen its battery life that :
NO 3G
enable wifi only when u need
no gps (enable only when u need)
screen brightness keeps it 25% or just below 25% it will be enuf to serve your purpose of viewing

I upgraded my gio to gingerbread 2.3.5 yesterday :D
Install samsung kies and it will itself prompt you to upgrade your phone to the latest firmware :)

If yes then YES :)
gio only has a single button at its front, both keys around the middle button are touch sensitive they are not actually buttons

Most of the tim... moreMy gio can receive text msgs that are upto 6 pages (160 characters per page) ... but note that although i can receive such big msgs but i can not create sms more than 3 pages othrwise it will acutomatically convert to MMS. As i have tried forwarding 4 or 5 page txt msgs but as soon as i choos to forward it automatically convert to MMS ..

i have this phone and it's great. i upgraded andtroid on 2.3. battery is bad. i charge gio every day at evening. in serbia it' 110 euros . for that money that is the best phone i ever see.

No doubt its a goood choice for the price.. I mean it. yes batttery is at downside, but thats the issue with most of the droids. I am using it, camera is goood (goood means its what that u can expect from a 3MP phone), but I would sugggest heavy users to stay away from it coz of battery and ram, otherwise most of the users will stay satisfied.

The battery lasts me more than a day even if i play games on it for a fair while. If i don't do anything with it i'd estimate the battery'd last 3-5 days, just remember to disable wifi etc when not using it.

Guys I previously owned an htc desire until a small mishap with the phone made me go and buy another phone. This time not wanting to spend a lot of money I bought the GIO. At first I was a little skeptical about it's status but after usage I realized that there is not much difference from my previous phone. Apart from the proprietary company softwares not much difference. At times I do feel it's a tad slow than my Desire but not a significant difference. Now I plan to upgrade it to gingerbread 2.3. Lastly a good phone to own in budget range cos if you lose an expensive phone just like that it really hurts but this GIO baby really made my day.
