The processor of this phobe is good but the internal storage is total garbage, 7GB for built in apps and the system.. srsly? I can no longer update my apps nor download games, samsung PLEASE upgrade the storage! I dont want to waste 170 bucks on this garbage

phone is a bit good my problem with this is that i experience auto shut and when removing the battery and placed it again it decreases the battery percentage min of 1percent max of 18 percent

This device is priced at Php 6,000.00 in our country (which is aprox. $117). Being an owner of this device, I simply cannot recommend this to other potential buyers, as there are other devices that can offer more performance and features at the same price range.
Pros (+)
>Good 2600mAh battery
>Good reproduction of colors, despite being a TFT screen
>It runs on Samsung's Android "TouchWiz" (ofc)
>4G + LTE support
>Great UI
>It's Mediatek, not Exynos (thanks for this one)
Cons (-)
>The built-in camera lacks some features. Open Camera performs marginally better than the stock
>Lack of making the SD card as an Adoptable Storage (even after using adb to format it as adoptable) makes this device hard to use. Installing Facebook + Messenger will take up LACK OF AMOLED DISPLAY AT THIS PRICE RANGE. Its predecessor, the J2 - has AMOLED display, which is still a better option than a TFT screen

Even using adb to make the extsdcard as adoptable storage doesn't work. It still defaults to the Internal storage of the device itself when installing an app.
Currently, there's a LineageOS13/14.1 port attempt for this device. That ROM will solve the storage problem, as it is based on stock Android, thus allowing Adoptable Storage as an option when formatting/inserting extsdcard

Purchased 3 units of this model. The silver one does have a longer battery life takes arround 3 days to be drained with the use of internet for almost 16 hrs. The gold one's battery life is just 1 day. All of my units have a 1st charge while it's drained and turned off while charging for 8 hrs with out any interruption. And the silver one is the only thing that has a 3 day battery life, In terms of storage it's the usual. Camera... Yes it sucks! Core prime has a better rear camera than this, good thing it's not my priority with this phone. The front camera. really poor quality. Well the phone is 6k made by samsung so there's a catch. The browser by samsung crashes a lot of times have to update it and it's all good.

raymart, 07 Aug 2017Is this cellphone good for searching anything in google chrome? Yes. The issue in this unit is the storage, such small storage. You will need to use adoptable storage. Search the web regarding adoptable storage on samsung units. :)

I have used an application to have adoptable storage with my unit (without rooting). Since then, I have no trouble using my J2 prime. Fast connection, no lag on my games. You just need to find ways to solve your problems on storage, just search the webs or join Samsung J2 Prime on Social networks to be updated with other techniques. Thanks!

It's a budget phone just for light to moderate use, don't expect too much for a phone with a price of P5999
