This phone is great! This is second J3 smartphone. Perfect for my life. Intuitive and easy to use.
However I do have a question. Is this phone a dual band? We have 5g wifi at my office and unable to access it. Any ideas? Thanks.

I want a phone that allows me to use social media (facebook, instagram, tumblr,...etc) and takes good selfies and good photos. i'm not interested in games. and can make good phone calls and texts .and has a good net connection or the Internet is speed (whatever it is) . you can say for teenage girl usage. is this a good one?
(p.s I am on budget and this one is inexpensive )

The second one didn't get updated drivers beacuse spreadtrum . An forced update will turn the device into a brick 😕. So in conclusion we won't get an 6.0.1 update nor nougat update.

My last Samsung, i regret i buy this phone. Why USA get Android 6.0 and EU Android 5.1 and they don't even upgrade this?

Hi, I have a european version of this J3 2016 and the problem is that this one is stuck on 5.1.1
The consequence is that one cannot really blend the external SD with internal memory.
Any suggestions?

let me get this straight the j2 prime is 130 euros and this is 120 euros and this gets android 7.1.1 and the j2 prime is still on 6.0.1 wtf samsung ?

These remarks are of the J3V so your milage may vary, but as for its cheaper end price, it does what you'd expect for the price. When new it ran great, but as time went on it got unbearably slow. Updating and downloading apps takes forever and severely slows the phone down, not to mention the back gets noticeably hot. The 5mp camera was absolute garbage and the battery wouldn't last an hour without dropping to 60-75% ... I could only recommend this phone if you planned on doing the basics such as call, text, and browsing the web. Otherwise save up for a newer higher quality phone.

I wanted a basic phone with some apps and basic internet.
This phone does all that.
But it comes with lollipop and that means you cant run apps of sd card. Some apps can be moved but that really does on move a portion of it not all.
The phone has 8gb memory which one would think is enough. But Samsung put so many stock standard apps like office on it which take all the space and it cant be uninstalled.
So if you install skype , whatsapp and facebook, you have about 700mb left.
Try to install anything else and you cant or you are in the enless annoyance with clearing cache and moving what you can to sd.
It is beyond me why samsung would release a produce which is not functional.
And alost 2 years later and still no update to later os update which will fix the issue.

Plz dont uy this phone. This phone is horrible. Battery problem. U can not use this phone without charger .it powers off when not in charging. Plus slow phone and it lags alot.i am a Samsung fan but u will not find anything good here.also dont buy j3 pro.it has the same issue

Whilst the features and ease of use are good. The storage on the 8gb is shocking. Constantly wanting to update apps that are already on the phone . Ended up with nothing of my own (app wise)
Had to buy extra memory card to store photos but can't load apps on it.
In short if your after a phone that your hardly ever going to use then maybe this might do otherwise I'd avoid it (8gb) at all costs.

Hi, 10 Jan 2018Storage problem very hardyeah, you're right, i've been using this phone and the only problem is that the storage is small, and even if you pop in an sd card, samsung doesn't enable you to set the sd card as a default storage device.

dont listen to what some critics here say. ive been using this phone since october 2016 and its a rock. i am virtually online 247 gambling,surfing the net ,downloading etc no qualms at all. phone is just perfect.

J3 is junk . Stay away from this thing.. Evdry app spys on you ,wont connect to wifi .too slow batt.crap awful.
