And in terms of updates Samsung is slow compared to Sony and others. It's quite ironic that despite heavily skinned with still lots of bloatware the UX & UI seem a tad slower than other OEM's and yet the software is optimised which translate to excellent battery life. Why?

I bought one and for me its a great phone, for the price it has good quality build, good battery, good interface, and good performance in most games and even on the high quality ones. The only problem you might find is not having 1080p display (its not a problem for me because when you see with your own eyes it looks like a 1080p display) and not having a usb type C that is common on most high end phones. But you have to consider the price. In my opinion its good.

its build is really premium better than c series display is really even though it is 720p but really good u can see very minimal pixelization speaker quality ia really good
camera quality is really good but if u shake your hand too much them image will come out blurred
battery time is also good bcuz 720p display ,exynos chipset and 3000 mah battery makes a stunning combination

Samsung need to sort the lag on their UI, they charge so much for laggy software. I've tested a Huawei P8 lite 2017 as a comparison and that is noticeably quicker on EMUI than the Samsung Touchwiz yet Samsung charge so much more.

Been pleasantly surprised by this phone it really goes run smoothly. The new Samsung Experience UI runs so good and also camera is great clarity but I use HDR alot due to normal auto makes images a little dark

AnonD-674391, 14 Aug 2017Yes they are but they are still great smartphones.Being "great" is too vaugue in this days of practicality, purpose & price. If it had Nougat 7.0 out of the box, electronic stabilisation and improved app loading then perhaps.
