My pie update have slowed my phone down. I don't know if it's a animation thing but most apps are slow to load after this update. I ding like the fact that Samsung remove volume slide. Also still no always on display and auto brightness.

been using android pie on this device for a full day now and I must say, the experience is pretty much the same with Oreo but with some improvements. most notable is the face unlock. it works better in the dark now. still not fast but at least it works in low light now. another improvement is the interface. it's much pleasing to the eye now. battery is almost the same, if not slightly better. I just had to recalibrate it. initially it was draining quite fast. gonna use it more to see if there's any issues but so far so good.

almost a day after the update and the first issue I'm encountering is with the gmail app. it doesn't automatically sync anymore. no updates for the gmail app itself in the playstore so I don't really know how to fix this. auto sync is on and I never changed any settings before and after updating.

I've experienced the same when I update to Oreo before. what you need to do is let the battery drain. just use it until it completely drains then fully charge it. personally, I do it twice just to make sure. you can use games or apps to quickly drain it if you're in a hurry. personally, I just use mine normally until the battery runs out.
I just updated mine yesterday and I'm still at 45% today so I have a long way to go of draining it.xD

android Pie is taking so long so I decided to update mine manually with the PC app, Odin. I must say I like the new look. love the full screen mode, it gives the UI a cleaner look. and the night mode is cool, no longer need dark themes. gonna use it for a while to see any other differences but so far it's looking good.
