      Android 9!

Android 9 comes as a free Distribution called LineageOS. The current version is LineageOS 16.0 which accords to Android 9. LineageOS 16.0 is free of cost and available at

      https://www.cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/download-and-install-lineage-os-16-for-galaxy-j7-2016/

      Enjoy!

Well yeah, I doubt that there is going to be any more updates for this one. But yeah, it was supported for almost three years, so it's not bad at all. I guess community will probably make some custom roms for this one, so support won't be a problem if you go that way.

I got to say that it's a major upgrade. I was using J7 2016 for two and a half years and it is still a decent device for a casual user. But yeah, I needed more memory and RAM so I went for 128GB/6GB of RAM A9.

Today, April 2nd of 2019, I incredibly received the Nougat update (yes, you're reading it right), my phone already 2 years and almost 4 months of use and in 2 weeks I'm hopping to change it for a new phone, it's really funny because many of you already have the Oreo update, I feel like I am in a kind of "Internet Explorer" joke, my model is the SM-J710MN, I hope this time that I don't have to wait another 2 years for the Oreo update =D greetings from Honduras

for geeks and professionals...i have a problem...after a short time from logging into my wifi network a "!" mark appears next to wifi strength indicator and when i switch into wifi configuration on my device it says"internet may not be available" under the network name...is it a general problem?!...if not, what could be the solution?...(by the way,i haven't updated the device to oreo, yet and the wired pc that connected to the same wifi router works normally...the problem happens with any wifi network regardless the strength of the connection)

I LOVE this phone, the only let-down was it has no gyroscope, but besides of that it's AMAZING... until you update it to Nougat. Ugh... The battery used to last longer on MM (6.0.1), since Nougat (7.0) and now Oreo (8.1) it wont last past 1 day and half. Oreo looks better than Nougat but pisses me off sometimes, it's slower than Nougat and some apps has graphic issues, some games are slower on Oreo than Nougat. My honest opinion to everyone who has this phone (with it's 6.0.1 stock rom) please never update it, it will lose it's charm.

Nougat: Battery will fall a little bit quicker at the beginning but will last longer at the end. So don't be afraid, when the phone shows 20% - this is enough power!

Is it just me, or since android 7 update battery life went downhill...
In marshmallow i used to get 12 or 13h screen on time. But now, using android 7.0 i would consider my self to be lucky if i ever get 9h. Its usually in the 8h mark now...

Yeah mine to SM-J710GN stuck in 6.0.1!!!
