This is the Samsung Members Romania page and only the J7 2016. It looks like the J7 2016 series has changed something and will receive 2 updates not just one

I don't think it will get oreo update..because samsung has clearly stated that galaxy j series will get only 1 major update

It is officially written on the Samsung Members Romania page! J7 2016 will receive Oreo 8.0 by 28.02.2019 with Galaxy Tab Active2 and J7 2017 will receive until 31.01.2019 and J5 2017 will receive until 31.12.2018! I was sure to be upgraded J7 2016 to Oreo was impossible to stay with only 7.0 !!!

Are there different J7 (2016) versions in India?
Some time back I received a ~238 MB update.
A few weeks back, a 78 MB update. Jio/VoLTE stopped working, but was fixed on new network search!
Was NEVER offered any 55 MB update that people have been talking about!
Now today a new 73 MB update is offered, but am worried about any Jio/VoLTE implications!
Anyone else ?

Chris22, 26 Jul 2018Somewhere is a mistake! It is not possible for the J5 2017 ... moreThere's no mistake. Oreo update is not for J5 2017, but it's for on5 2016 which is a variant of J5 Prime, with 32gb storage & 3gb RAM. Of course, it is late, that's why they mentioned the word POSTPONE.

J7 2017 Oreo update scheduled in December'18.

I think this is a mistake, it can not be! well last year J7 2016 received the update to 7.0 Nougat in Europe at the beginning of October and J5 2016 at the end of November early December and jumped directly to 7.1.1. maybe J7 2016 to receive it by the end of December! J7 2017 must now receive it by October

If it does not get its update to Android 8.0 until December 31, 2018, I do not think it gets it anymore! In January, I do not think Samsung is up to date with Oreo updates, then I have to prepare for Android 9.0 update for the S9 and S8 models. The end date is that it is until the end of 2018. If this date is exceeded, I do not think it gets anymore!
