I only have some minor scratches on that shiny part between screen and metal frame. I can understand that and I don't mind it too much, since I'm using this phone for more than a year now, same as you.

However on some newer devices when SIM1 is on 4G, SIM2 can be set to 3G. I wonder if this is the case with J7 2016 with Nougat.

And theres one thing why I wanted to buy this is because my j7 2016 metal frame (gold) is slightly peeling off just like old samsung galaxy series that has plastic frame. I'm not pretty surr if j7 2016 really have this metal frame cause it doesnt seems like it has. I wonder of someone already realize that? :) I've already owned this phone for 1 year and 1 month.

UI will probably get some small re-design, as it was always the case. And off topic here, I would wait for A8 Plus price to drop a bit, since you can save a bit more and just get a flagship S8 for example, or just go for OnePlus 5T which will crush A8 Plus in every aspect. But yeah, it's just my opinion.

There are numerous other variants with same CPU as J7 2016, and J7 2015 is running on older chipset, so you got to consider that also. So I don't see a reason why Samsung would skip J7 2016 and update J7 Prime for example, which runs on same chipset and even got to push full HD screen, don't forget that. But only time will show. There is kinda no logic for cheaper J5 2016 to run newer version than more expensive J7 2016, to honest.

I'm still waiting for another update before I'll buy an a8 2018 plus. I really love this j7 2016 that is why its so hard for me to let go of this phone.

We are crying like hell and wont getting the nougat as we got 1 major update of marshmallow. I dont think that j7 2016 varient will be getting the oreo update. The only device from j series (2016) getting oreo is J7 Prime!

There are rumors that even S6 is getting Oreo, and it's three year old phone, but it was flagship, so you can't really rely on that. Also, if you take a look at J7 2017, and even J7 Pro, they all run on same chipset as ours, so if they get Oreo, and I'm like 99% sure they will, there is also a bigger chance that we will get it. Also, J5 2016 got android 7.1.1 as far as I saw, and it just does not make sense to me. What I think will happen is that we will get Oreo, and J5 will probably stay on 7.1.1. But that's just my opinion, and thinking with a bit of logic. But yeah, only time will show.

Do you think we can still have another update for at least 7.1.1 so they can just remove the memo app and replace it with samsung notes, as well as putting always on display, smart view, and put the bixby home as default just like other samsung mobile with 7.1.1? I've downloaded the APK's file for the apps i've mentioned but luckily I only got few of them installed fine I've got the new samsung notes, bixby, reminder and the new touchwiz works fine with j7 2016.. I'm pretty sure my phone looks so updated like 7.1 but not my real version of my phone right now it is still 7.0. I'm still hoping samsung could still recognize this phone for considering an update.

Hey guys, Just a question - I've been using Norton AntiVirus on my phone. Last night I was just wondering if I really need an AntiVirus app separately. Because when I go into settings -> Device Maintenance -> Device Security, there's an option to scan the phone. So do I really need an antivirus app separately? Have you guys been using one? Thanks

ExE, 09 Jan 2018Camera photos are shit.You ever saw really shit camera? Camera on this phone is not bad at all, unless you go and shoot pictures in dark, then quality really degrades. But it is normal for phones in this price range, you really can't expect Note 8 camera quality. And most people buying this phone or owning one realize that.
