Just received the original OTA 7.0 Update yesterday. J710FN, EU edition with 2Gb Ram and the 720 screen. Almost 1gig size, installed nicely, is running a bit faster (was fast before too). The extras from 6 to 7 are nice, feels a bit like a new phone. Many apps are running faster too, actually it auto-updated a lot of them, possibly the compatible versions for 7, have been reprogrammed by their owners. Until now i'm happy.

nick, 18 Nov 2017Y r u confusing that man..as if u knw completely abt flashi... moreI am not confusing, it is my experience and he can't change IMEI with IMEI changer, you can change the number but you can't receive or make calls with a false/wrong imei, service provider won't allow that, I have tried with my note 3 but no success. If he follows my advice he can give life to the phone, fully working. I am a chef so I am not aware of the technical or software part deeply but my 6/7 years of experience with root, flashing

AnonD-709674, 16 Nov 2017Wow Overall complete review than what you suggest should i ... moreIt depends. I suggest, don't. If I were you, I wouldn't upgrade. But still, as I said earlier, it depends. Ok, let me clarify this. Yes, Nougat runs fairly well on J7 2016. It's smooth, it's not laggy at all. But! And a big but! Multitasking is poor. In simple words, it's poor. Multitasking was pretty good on marshmallow. But on nougat, it simply struggles to keep apps/web pages in memory.
Secondly, battery backup was way better on marshmallow. I wouldn't say it's poor on Nougat. In fact, it's decent. But it was just heavenly on marshmallow. Again, I'm not implying that Battery backup is poor on Nougat. It's just that it isn't as good as it was on marshmallow. It really isn't. It's a big deal to me battery backup was one of the primary reasons I purchased this phone. Other than these two things (battery backup and multitasking), everything else is pretty much the same.
Therefore, if you multitask, and if Battery backup is really important to you, I would advice against upgrading it. You may hold off until 7.1 update comes out for this phone. If 7.1 fixes those issues, you can go ahead and update your phone.
But if you don't multitask a lot, and you are ok with reduced battery backup (compared to marshmallow), you may go ahead and update it. Choice is yours :) I'm just trying to help you. Because If I were you, I wouldn't update. But that's only because I multitask, and as I said, I purchased this phone mainly because of it's damn good battery backup (on marshmallow). Ah, those good old days!
Btw, I'm from India and mine is SM-J710FN

AnonD-709674, 16 Nov 2017Wow Overall complete review than what you suggest should i ... moreIf you ask me, upgrade. UI design overall is better and you get some new features like multi window and others. Everything else is kinda the same, I don't multitask a lot so I have no problems with RAM.

All right, time has come for me to do a full review on this device from my aspect of view.(Country where i bought this device from: Macedonia;Store where i bought this device from: Ledikom Mobile Store;Model: UAE edition model with SM-J710F as the model number; Network Carrier: Makedonski Telekom ;Currently running on the latest software provided on the model numbed SM-J710F Which is Android 7.0.1 Nougat with Samsung Experience 8.1)
                                    Pros:
                                    -Big Display (5,5")
-Super AMOLED Display(With a lot of realistic colours)
-Decent GPU,CPU,etc... Performing pretty decent on many high end games (Such as Asphalt 8 with got me at 20-45 FPS)
-Big and decent 3,300 Li-Ion Battery which under a mid usage(Let's say i start playing while im on School with around 100% Battery, and at the end i get left [Depends when,what,etc...] with around 40,50,60% or something between these numbers which is great)
-Great Cameras.(Both Back and Front perform well),and what's even better is that the front facing camera has flash too. They show some clear pictures and they are really decent.
                                    -Headphone Jack
                                    -Good design
                                    -Updatable to Android Nougat
                                    -Hardware off-screen buttons
-Outdoor brightness mode(Making the screen of this phone way brighter, usefull especially when outside on the go if the sun is blocking your display to see way better)
-Easy to use and hold in hand(Well at least for me)
-Openable back(The reason why i like the openable back and removable battery is because if you end up in situations to freeze ur phone.Let's say with apps that aren't so so optimised for ur phone then they freeze up your system,so by just removing the back and the battery and inserting it again this gets solved. And by the way pressing the power button for longer than 8 seconds on most Samsung phones does nothing. And i know that the openable plastic back isn't durable at all,but there's a reason why i like it.(
                                    Cons:
-Bad grilled speaker(Basically performing bad and not as loud as i expected it to be.Mine makes a bit of a weirdly distorted sound sometimes when i play it on max volume, and it's not that loud)
-Really slow charging time(No issues with it but it's normal for a phone with such a lot battery to charge slowly)
                                    Neutral:
-No 2nd mic for cancelling mic voice
                                    -No fingerprint reader
                                    -No fast charging
-Overall poor ram(After Nougat update [7.0.1] drastically decreased compared to Marshmallow, but might be fixed with the upcoming Android 7.1.1 OTA Software Update)
                                    My words:
-I've been using this phone for overall 7 months and i can say that it just works all right and fine(at least for me)without any issues so far.I absolutely love it.If you'd like to buy something similar go for the J7 Pro(If you have enough for it,if not go for J7/J5 2017), it's just like this but way better with some small improvements (Such as better speaker, bigger battery, fingerprint,etc...).
Device after Nougat update is fine, thus the ram management is a bit poor compared to Marshmallow, but expecting it to be fixed with Android 7.1.1 soon.Gaming performance is all right(Not that bad), screen is huge, display is fine, battery fine(At least for me), charging fine.Heat issues aren't a probem in this device i suppose because this one does not heat up over nothing. If it does frequently try to give it a rest or cool it down with Clean Master. That's all folks.
