in the phone settingsNo it's not working Samsung will force the update to automatic installation (suffered a lot when automatically updated to Oreo).
How to stop that force update which download and install automatically.
P.S - Automatic update & Scheduled update is disabled.

J7 2017 will receive Android 9.0 Pie with One UI in July so you do not even have to get back to an old version of android

Concerning fast draining Battery after updating to OREO 8.1
What to do?
it's a long story
But briefly, tow things to do to minimize this annoying thing
1-take backup of your data and factory reset the phone
2-Also recalibrate the battery, How?
1-let the battery reach 0% and open the phone several times until the phone failed to be opened
2- charge the phone to 100 % but while it is shutdown don't open the phone till comes to 100 %
3- open the phone and use it wisely by using maximum power saving most of times.
4- repeat e these steps from 1-->3 one more time
1 more thing to do ::
1-open Settings/apps
2- then get in each app one by one --> then get in Battery section
if you see button beside this phrase "Allow background activity"
if you find the button on--> change it to off
this is will save Battery consumption
another thing after every new charge
repeat this Step for specially 2 apps

But what happened in Romania does not appear J7 2017 in the list for updating to 9.0 Pie! It was removed from the update list. Only J3 2017 and J5 2017 remained.

I came to here because I believe that I must do my minimum duty to this phone manufacturer.
I have never seen in my life such a good phone compared to price and many other factors.
I would say this is the phone of my 10 coming 10 years
