i updated my phone to Android 10 last August (build no. J720FDDU6CTG2)
it worked fine, a little lag than Android 9, but still acceptable.
but after a month of use, problems started to happen. some apps are crashed, some are lagging, and sometime the menu is missing (ie: option to remove OTG devices).
i hope Samsung will give another updates to fix these problems.
in my opinion,
J720F with Android 9 is still the best option.

It's upgradable to Android 10 Q that comes in One UI 2 software update.

Does messaging apps has phrase spam blocking option? I've heard many samsung device missing it after update to one ui 2.0...

Mad, 23 Jul 2020How is the performance after update???just updated mine to Android 10 & One UI 2.0.
it add extra features and nothing's wrong with performance.
but there are little hiccup with some apps and widgets,
and the "Contact Migrator" apps (the temporary apps that transfer contacts from Android 9 to Android 10 during installation) stuck in my home screen and can't be removed since the phone thinks its part of the system.
if i have time to backup my phone, i might try factory reset to see if the problems will be solved by itself.

This is a very good one on that price range .. it gave me a lots of experiences about a good satisfaction about mid range phone in samsung ... I personally recommend this one because I ve used this one as mine ... so thank u samsung & arena....

Still Not facing any lags in daily from first time bought at first launch at 2018, till now the device still fine, I even have 3 units of J720F. As a advice, may I don't plan for waiting till android 10, because there's a system lag I experienced in J720F Firmware with code J720FDDU5BTC1, Which feels a little lag in perfomance so luckily I manage to downgrade to J720FDDS5BSL2. Now I'm not dare to up to J720FDDS6BTE2 or even android 10 later. I f anyone experience a lag of J720F, you must be in J720FDDU5BTC1 stock firmware. Please give me advice guys.

the latest update (Jan 2020) makes the fingerprint sensor less sensitive.
i hope they fix it.

I'm still not facing any slowness or lags, it's still a working as good as the first day of my usage, yes there's some battery life got decreased, 100% to 96% drain quickly but after that its still normal,
