No. A7 2017 is equipped with Exynos 7880 which is more powerful than SD625 & P20.

...and you say both are similar? Never.
Helio P20 / CPU-1,300 / GPU-9,500
This clearly shows P20 is unable to beat even SD625, SD626 is too far ahead. Neither in speed, nor in games.

Scratch resistant glass.
23 MP camera.
Noise cancellation.
Type C USB.
Fast charger.
Lesser heat than j7 prime.
Its all in personal choices.

Samsung is 1st only in sales. The 1st ever Android phone is HTC Dream. It is HTC who introduced Android, when no one trusted it. Did you know that before Android was purchased by Google, the original developers went to Samsung but alas.

Mediatek P20 is very powerfull and it has PumpExpress 3.0 which is like Fast charging 3. Gaming is also very good, unfortunately is not that well optimazed like Adreno Gpus and some games might lag even if soc is more than enough or some games will say Your Device is not yet supported... Also Snapdragon 626 is more power efficient while still performs very well.

In j7 max samsung use the mtk processor. But it is the heating processor. Snapdragon will be better.

Now its P20 , it will beat SD626 in Gaming performance. Sony XA1 is better only in Rear cam dept , other things are crap in front of J7 Max specs.

In this segment Oppo F1S and Vivo V5 doesn't has any Qualcomm or Exynos chipset , rather a MTK only - Thats too poor MTK chip that doesn't support more than 720P resolution and those oppo/vivo are just ovrrated china phones unlike Samsung which is world's no1.
No one asked you here which phone do you want , so stop misleading and get what you like
MTK is not good but its flaghips will kill budget exynos/qualcomm chipsets and here J7 max has P20 which is premium SOC by MTK not a cheap one .
at 18000 , Samsung can only give Exynos 7870 which is 1.6ghz octa + MALI 830 MP2 which is worse for gaming in 1080P displays. Its poor in performance than Entry level Snapdragon 435 in GPU performance while J7 max had not reqular MTK chip , It has HELIO P20 whose performance is more than Snapdragon 626 that was used in samsung C7 pro.
there is no branded power full under 20K which is as powerful as J7 max.
Snapdragon SD626 C7 Pro at 26K , Exynos based A7 2017 at 32K which is like MTK P10 not even closed to P20 in performance...your choice. if you don't want MTK , spend more why looking at sub 18K phones ? when you don't like MTK , why getting oppo/vivo ?

I do not understand why Samsung uses the MTK P20 instead of Exynos, or Qualcomm? They are far better than MTK in terms of heating issue.
I would prefer Oppo, or Vivo in this segment

If you want accurate information, go to official websites of Mediatek or Samsung, or even you can check with Sony Xperia XA1 & XA1 ultra. They also equip the same chipset Helio P20.
