I got a Hauwei P lite in 2018 on contract and it got stolen after 6 months. I replaced it with the J7 Pro even though it was a 2017 model. I really liked this phone especially compared to the Huawei. My plan was to keep this phone for as long as it would last. Sadly it got stolen 3 days before my country went into hard lock down. I was under pressure to choose a new phone and was lucky enough to get the Samsung A70 at a very discounted price in March. The A70 is so bloody big however and I hate the plastic feel. Sadly this phone feel into water a week ago (I, know, talk about bad luck...). Anyways, all handsets seem so pricey. Even the A70 is double the price now, compared to what I payed for it 6 months ago. So I was considering the Xiaomi note 8 or 9s or even the P40 lite. (although I am reluctant to buy Huawei). Now, I discovred the J7 Pro online for the exact same price I got it two years ago. And I was really sad to lose this phone in the first place. But it is a 2017 model. Do you guys think it would be unwise to buy this model again, or should I rather consider the other options I mentioned. I really do like my Samsung phones and all my setting sare stored in the Samsing cloud etc - but I am not too fond of all these latest Samsung offerings plus the plastic back of the A70 really made it feel like a cheap phone. Plus, these large sized phones are driving me crazy. But are those reasons enough to justify buying a 2017 model phone like the J7 Pro?

Mh.Hamad, 17 Aug 2020The worst phone I have ever bought ... simply. Negatives: ... moreBought this device three years ago and I never experienced any lagging especially with the typing. A tempered glass was put on the first day I purcahsed it and never experienced what you have encountered with this device.

Camera focusing takes few seconds when you tap on the screen to focus in.

I ever bought this phone in December 2017 to replacing my lost white J7 (2015). I enjoyed this a lot but then the screen got wrecked with horizontal thin stripe on the lower side. But yeah, this phone is quite awesome.

This phone is so delicate! Dropped from less than 3 feet and the touch stopped working and screen display leaked out some purple colors (inside) and stopped working after a few days. Phone is now a useless brick as the service tech says it's gonna cost me about $70-$100 to fix. I'd rather buy another phone.

cute device, if you are into AMOLEDs.
I use a samsung NOTE 5 but its huge and pixalated despite quad hd
this J7 pro i found more cute, except i dont like AMOLED

The worst phone I have ever bought ... simply.
Negatives: Lagging - slow performance - slow response to keyboard while typing - it misses many touches if I try to type while it is laid on a table - overheating - worst camera in a smartphone (focus issues) - unreliable fingerprint sensor - no major updates

                  Positives: a bit nice looking

I'll never buy a Samsung again in my life...

Edit - Oh and good luck typing anything if you apply a protective screen

Got DISAPPOINTED that this phone does not support MHL cable. It can only support via wireless. I don't have a SmartTV.. It would have been better if Samsung added this feature.

purchased phone from kuwait and using in India. at first jio volte worked fine. but after update volte is not working and this is their reply when i complained about it

"I would like to seek your kind understanding towards device region and network limitations where VoLTE services will only operate in the region that the phone is designated to be released in.

The VoLTE configuration is embedded in the software of the device. Since we have localized software, it is only intended within the Gulf region"

Changing LCD is usual in J7, this problem is increasing in the A Series of Samsung

I had bought this for my mother and the screen literally 3 times from very low drops from the bed which is only as long as my knees length. We decided to just call it a write off after the third time it broke.

Ok now everyone here's some tips on j7 pro when u get or if u already have it
                                    1. Do not drop the phone no matter what! The amoled screen is very sensitive to shock and will stop working if it hits the ground. Better yet get a shock proof phone case
                                    2. If u wanna not have a lot of storage problems either opt for the 64gb variant or avoid upgrade to pie or Oreo altogether
                                    3. Pro tip for gamers: do not choose this phone because there is only one GPU core in this phone
Try to go for snapdragon models:the chipset usually contain a lot of gpu cores.
The cpu however is good.. if that's what ur aiming for.
                                    Hope my advice helps.
