Nice phone. No ugly notch or weird screen resolution. Nowadays phone displays are much taller and less wider. This is why 16:9 FHD is better than current screen ratios.

I bought it on October 2017. I have done factory reset once, and this phone still rocks until now. I have to admit that the processor doesn't comply the current needs for games, but still works for most apps. Overall, a great phone of its time

But honestly, the processor and GPU do not cut it in 2020 and you would have a better user experience if you buy a new phone with the latest processors.

Mh.Hamad, 17 Aug 2020The worst phone I have ever bought ... simply.
Negatives: ... moreFor anyone complaining about touch sensitivity with a screen protector: later versions of the firmware added the "touch sensitivity" option in Settings / Display.
Flavour text - "Increases the touch sensitivity of the screen for use with screen protectors."
Enabling this worked a treat on mine (thin glass protector)
Still quick after 2.5years, but clearly isn't as snappy as those out today.
The camera IS capable of taking spectacular shots - in the right conditions. It's not sensitive in low-light: very noisy images - and even in good light the virtual shutter speed is slow, and it makes it difficult to hold the phone motionless enough to take sharp photos. Definitely NOT your first choice if the camera is a high priority to you. Love the display.
Most amazing - this 3YO phone received the September1 2020 Android security update!
Mh.Hamad - I suspect your phone was just plain faulty - in particular I've never had the phone get hot. Your touch-screen issue I've addressed above.

I got a Hauwei P lite in 2018 on contract and it got stolen after 6 months. I replaced it with the J7 Pro even though it was a 2017 model. I really liked this phone especially compared to the Huawei. My plan was to keep this phone for as long as it would last. Sadly it got stolen 3 days before my country went into hard lock down. I was under pressure to choose a new phone and was lucky enough to get the Samsung A70 at a very discounted price in March. The A70 is so bloody big however and I hate the plastic feel. Sadly this phone feel into water a week ago (I, know, talk about bad luck...). Anyways, all handsets seem so pricey. Even the A70 is double the price now, compared to what I payed for it 6 months ago. So I was considering the Xiaomi note 8 or 9s or even the P40 lite. (although I am reluctant to buy Huawei). Now, I discovred the J7 Pro online for the exact same price I got it two years ago. And I was really sad to lose this phone in the first place. But it is a 2017 model. Do you guys think it would be unwise to buy this model again, or should I rather consider the other options I mentioned. I really do like my Samsung phones and all my setting sare stored in the Samsing cloud etc - but I am not too fond of all these latest Samsung offerings plus the plastic back of the A70 really made it feel like a cheap phone. Plus, these large sized phones are driving me crazy. But are those reasons enough to justify buying a 2017 model phone like the J7 Pro?

Mh.Hamad, 17 Aug 2020The worst phone I have ever bought ... simply.
Negatives: ... moreBought this device three years ago and I never experienced any lagging especially with the typing. A tempered glass was put on the first day I purcahsed it and never experienced what you have encountered with this device.
Camera focusing takes few seconds when you tap on the screen to focus in.

I ever bought this phone in December 2017 to replacing my lost white J7 (2015). I enjoyed this a lot but then the screen got wrecked with horizontal thin stripe on the lower side. But yeah, this phone is quite awesome.

This phone is so delicate! Dropped from less than 3 feet and the touch stopped working and screen display leaked out some purple colors (inside) and stopped working after a few days. Phone is now a useless brick as the service tech says it's gonna cost me about $70-$100 to fix. I'd rather buy another phone.

The worst phone I have ever bought ... simply.
Negatives: Lagging - slow performance - slow response to keyboard while typing - it misses many touches if I try to type while it is laid on a table - overheating - worst camera in a smartphone (focus issues) - unreliable fingerprint sensor - no major updates
Positives: a bit nice looking
I'll never buy a Samsung again in my life...
Edit - Oh and good luck typing anything if you apply a protective screen
