Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 passes through FCC

25 July, 2014

Despite numerous leaks of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2, we have still not glimpsed the rumored upcoming phablet in the flesh. The latest FCC certification, however, brings the device one step closer to reality, revealing dimensions and connectivity bands.

The exact measurements are 164.4 x 85mm, which is considerably smaller than the Galaxy Mega 6.3, but larger than the Mega 5.8, lending credibility to the rumors that the upcoming Mega 2 will be a 5.9-inch device.

Previous leaks also hint at a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset with Adreno 306 GPU inside, alongside 8GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. The display is rumored to be of the 720p variety, which is a step up from the Mega 5.8, and there will also be a 12MP/4.7MP rear/front camera combo, both capable of 1080p video recording. All of this is expected to run on Android 4.4.3 KitKat.

With the FCC certification already a done deal, we could see the Mega 2 announcement any day now.

Looks great at 5.9". 6.3" is rather a bit bit but 5.9" is just nice. Hope that Samsung will pack more juice into this phone as for daily use. Thanks again for making a good study on phone users.
