IN ANY PHONE... IT IS NOT JUST SPECIFICATION MATTERS. WE NEED TO SEE IF THE SPECIFICATION MATCHES THE PRICE AND THE PHONE WORTH THE PRICE. ALSO WE NEED TO SEE WHAT WE ARE GETTING IN OTHER BRANDS AT THIS PRICE LEVEL.
We should not just go with the spec only. The spec may be good, but the price fixed may be too high which may not match the spec. In such cases, we should avoid that phone.
So compare both the spec and price, and come to conclusion if we need to buy a phone or not. If you see such detailed analysis, this phone is not worth buying.
Instead, if you pay another 3000, you get far better phone Samsung S3 or pay less (save money) and buy Grand (value for money) or get better phone in some other brand at this price or lower.

Hi Guys i have the Mega 5.8 from past 2 weeks and i can easily review it . I am geek at large . My past phones have been S2 , Note 2 and little experience on Grand .
Device is fairly large and one handed operation is out of question . Its way larger than grand or s2 and little larger than note 2. i for one would have loved slightly thinner bezels.
Screen : It has the largest screen size amongst all . Its much much brighter than s2/note 2 but just a little more brighter than grand . TFT display has really punchy colors and viewing angles are good but not as good as s2/note 2. Also contrast of the screen is not as good as amoleds in note2/s2 . But little better than grand .
Sharpness and PPI which has been the talk of the town is Good . Text is the only place where you might see little jaggies . Everywhere else the bigger screen makes up for low resolution .Ofcourse note 2 sharper.
Touchscreen sensitity is really good as good as note 2 and slightly better than s2 or grand
Performance : Device feels snappy in the hand . I am surprised at its much quicker than grand or s2 . But noticely slower than note 2 . All menus are fast to come by . App load times are quicker than s2 or grand but slower than note 2 . Overall there isnt any lag as such . and even power saving mode doesnt affect smoothness. Overall for a lowballer broadcom chipset this thing is quick .
Camera : From shots i have taken camera for all phones work same . Detail is very good. focus is fast . Nothing much to complain about . I think noise levels are low and IQ is same as note 2 and slightly better than grand or s2
Battery life : I am surpised at the battery life. In 3g mode i get 1.5 days worth running . 3hrs of calling and 5 hours of screen time which including surfing , fb,whatsapp . If switched to 2g i got 2 days worth time and 4 hrs of calling and 6 hrs of screen time . Battery is way better than s2 good bit better than grand and equal or slightly less than note 2 .One thing i must include the standby drain time is excellent . For overnight everything off i get 1 % (2g) and 1.5% (3g) down for 8 hours sleep . Thats fantastic .
Call/Music : In call volume is fantastic. I have never ever used a phone with such loud volume. Additionally there is call loud button which makes it even louder. Full marks to samsung on this. Headfone volumne is insanely loud. Let me repeat insanely loud . I just cant keep the volume at 100% . In my last 10 yrs of fone never remember a phone so loud in calling and music . Full marks to Samsung .
GPS : This thing is a monster for GPS . It locks satellite noticibly better than all phones i know . Its fast and accurate. Even inside my home on the window this phone locks GPS .Amazing. no other phone i know can do this. Way faster than s2 or grand slightly faster than note 2
Browsing/Games : This is where this phone really shines plays all the games really smoothly .and browsing is really smooth . i was expecting some lags for browsing when zooming in heavy pages but no . Its as smooth as it gets .
Over this phone is much closer to note 2 than grand or s2 . And for close to 180$(10k inr) cheaper than note2 is a no brainer .

I've found out that both use the SAME OLD ARCHITECTURE and the ONLY DIFFERENCE being the extra 3 ppi density and 20g weight.

Mega is too good compared to grand. Larger & brighter screen & good response. Whatever you do NEVER buy a Micromax HD or whatever. It's the worst mobile equipment ever to have.

Lakshmi, 01 Jul 2013Friends, Like many others I am also confused choosing phone... morei would say mega 5.8 is better as it has got bigger processor than grand and more even u are getting latest version of android with mega 5.8.mega is much faster than grand and u are getting more ram and more internal memory(user available) in mega than in grand.battery backup of mega is better in mega coz of 2600 mah battery against 2100 mah in grand.in mega u are getting many features of note 2 and s4 some of which are missing in mega.

Lakshmi, 01 Jul 2013Friends, Like many others I am also confused choosing phone... morei guess you should go with grand because its got a better processor as well as a nice screen , though the ppi density for mega is quite bad but its better than grand.. mega's screen size may create an inconvenience but its okay to go with it.. mega is a much better option with just 3000 bucks more than grand..
