I'm using flip pouch with magnetic lock mechanism for about 2 weeks. Since then i feel something wrong with my phone where's it's become too slow.
1- Cell phone signal reception (GSM/3G) drop 1-2 bar.
1- Wifi connection always lost connection - When i browsing internet, phone always stop receive data.
3- Battery drain very fast due to low signal.
4- Digital compass not functioning - Off course magnet can interfere compass polarity.
5- Weird On-Off function - sometime i'm having strange behaviour like WiFi On-Off by itself (i hope not ghost doing that).
I've remove 2 pcs magnet from the flip pouch and then replace it with 'velcro fastener'. Now i can use my phone without any magnetic interference again. The phone never doing strange action anymore.

Other option is download and update the firmware via third party software like i already mentioned on previous post.

To upgrade to 2.3 Gingerbread, read this tutorial.

As for the ringtone, used your media player (Music). Browse to tone / mp3 you want to set as ringtone, long press on the title and the popup menu will appear. select Set as phone ringtone.

How to change your message tone ;
Create a new folder name Notifications inside your SD card. Put all the tone you want inside the folder. Then go to Message and left soft button > Settings > Select ringtone and select the tone you want.

You can reset the magnetometer by Open Compass v2.1 or if don't have one please download it from Android Market. Click on Menu option and choose calibrate. Read the instruction by waving your phone in '8' figure. Check your compass again, it should be accurate now.

Lee, 15 Jun 2011i have this phone for about a month now, before i got this... more@LEE FYI, ringtones and message alert tone are changeables. just find on how to change ringtones and message alert tone in this thread. i know cause i have done it in my mini.

i have this phone for about a month now,
before i got this, i read all opinions here and it's true what they are saying.
Base on my experience using this, its an amazing fon for it's price.. very good touch screen,clear and you tube is clear.
screen is quite enough in-size.
ANDROID MARKET is very much helpful and easy to
download apps.ONE problem im facing battery life is somehow easy to drain..or maybe thats the consequences of having a hig-end phone because of applications. and message alert tone and ringtone is not changeable.BUT STILL I CONSIDER THIS AS An AWESOME GADGET!!- TENX - LEE here from php

i noticed that while talking my calls always get disconnected. the caused was the "end" button which is right in the middle of the screen. Have you experience this before? any ways to avoid this mess? p/s: people must be wondering why i cut off the line suddenly.. HELP
