I read from some newspaper that the actual resolution of this phone is not as good as the spec says, and it is mainly due to the pen tile layout of the pixcels. Can anyone confirm it?

Nexus series gives new versions of OS but thats okay nexus is good whatever specs r there, they are sufficient... Actualky galaxy gave us many specs thus whenever samsung releases a new smartphone, ppl expect more n bigger specs than its previous releases...

This phone is cool it have 1.2 GHz TI OMAP 4460 ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core CPU Display is HD Super AMOLED PenTile 4.65 in (118 mm) diagonal 1280x720 px at 316 ppi 16:9 aspect ratio GPU is 384 MHz PowerVR SGX540 those people who say camera is not that good I say for home usage 5 megapixel is enough if you want more you can buy another phone but this phone have some cool features like 1280x720 this is required resolution for watching HD movies so when you watch HD video on it you will notice difference between this phone & other phones in market internal storage is 32GB no extra card slot well I say if you install App it goes into your phone memory and not your Sd card so I think this is good for a gamer like me who will be installing alot of games & apps those phones with Sd card option don't have this big internal storage so I think this is cool it have 32GB internal storage, now I compare these 2 phones that I like
SGSII Camera = 8 MP
Galaxy Nexus = 5 MP not much difference in camera
SGSII Display = S Amoled Plus 480 x 800 pixels, 4.3 inches (~217 ppi pixel density)
Galaxy Nexus = Amoled HD 720 x 1280 pixels, 4.65 inches (~316 ppi pixel density)16:9 aspect-ratio
this makes good difference in screen size & resolution HD videos will surely look good on Nexus so Nexus is cool in Display
SGSII CPU = 1.2Ghz Dual Core
Galaxy Nexus = 1.2Ghz Dual Core
CPU is rated at same speed don't know much about GPU difference though but I hope GPU will be good on Nexus also
SGSII no NFC
Galaxy Nexus have Near Field Communication (NFC)
overall I say Galaxy Nexus is pretty cool Phone just less megapixel camera which is not that much of a deal for most users only 3 megapixel difference still 5 megapixel is good for taking photos for home use Galaxy Nexus have Android 4.0 Icecream Sandwich & SGSII will get Android 4.0 update also so its same aswell so those of you who were waiting for something cool like this must buy it when its available I myself will buy this phone once its available I don't care if it have 5 megapixel camera I want bigger & better display for gaming I want latest OS that is Android 4.0 I want to watch HD movies on this phone which will surely look good because of HD display & hope music will sound good too thats all people take care & have a nice day.

kdavid991, 30 Oct 2011bad phone regarding wieght & viewing in day light Nexus G is lighter then Iphone4s(135g vs 140g) and if you consider the fact that Nexus G has more than 1 inch larger(and better) display, that's amazing.
Plus about daylight view, im pretty sure your statement isn't based on the facts.

this is so cool... this phone is gonna kick out the iphone 4s. it's screen has 1280x720 resolutions, which is more than my laptop..:) 1.5 ghz duel-core processor, this is better than the Galaxy s2. can't wait to get my hands on it... let's when it will launch in November..

wow. more and more comments about people saying that the galaxy s2 is better than this. And most people are saying this based on camera.Really guys? if you want a camera buy a camera. This phone is gonna be much better as a SMART PHONE. And thats what its meant to be. It will be better because:-
Amazing screen with amazing resolution
Better and more optimized OS out of the box.
The first to get updates
Plus am sure even after updating the the gs2 to Ics the ui on this phone will be better. Touchwiz has some horrible inconsistency issues.
As always with nexus phones this one will have the best support from community developers.
From what have heard the processor is better.
There are probably more reasons. So if you want specs go for s2. if you android purist then this.

[deleted post]what about the screen resolution and ppi huh?? yeah thats right we want this phone for that! not a crappy motorola razr display... also motorola release crap phones and they do it slow.. in one of the vid i watched on youtube it was laggy with all those so called good specs... there processors are probably made by a cheap manufacturer hence the laggy performance.
