All the usual hypocrisy, defending 5MP. When SGS3 comes with a 16MP, suddenly it'll be WOOOO 16MP WoooOOOOOOTTTT! Cmon guys, just chill.

guldis, 23 Oct 2011In what world does megapixels matter more than optics?Ditto. The lense is far more important than the megapixels. The only thing 8mps will do is give you poster-sized photos. When's the last time you wanted to make a poster?

They didn't make it a 8mp because it was not fast enough and they wanted to keep it 0 sec shutter lag for the rapid camera capture feature hence why they left it 5mp rather then 8mp. That's my guess and i think I'm probably right otherwise they would've added made it an 8mp camera.. an I think they should've put the 3 led buttons on the bottom like galaxy s2...(no physical button) because this sacrifice abit of the screen IMO.

guldis, 23 Oct 2011In what world does megapixels matter more than optics? If Megapixels dont matter you're saying a vga camera with good optics can beat an 8mp camera?... i disagree it might looks good once captured but when stretch or zoom its a complete blur... so yes mp is necessary especially when you want sharper image hence more pixels > more details > more sharper image. so don't say mp isnt anything in compared to optics.

Megapixels does matter.. when you're zooming/stretching the picture it still stays sharp and 3million extra pixels is pretty good... so don't say Mp is useless because you can have a vga camera with good optics and the picture looks same as the 8mp one but when you zoom in or stretch it it looks blurry as crap..

well this sucks, I waited so long for the galaxy s2. Now that the phone is available, they come up with android 4.0. why should we spend $550 for an old version of android now????

Better to go with either Motorola Razr King of Android phones, or iPhone 4S.

The camera is the reason I hate Samsung in the smartphone arena. They have it all, everything you need and more, until you push the snapper button.
Just a big miss. Hope they have a Galaxy with a good snapper in the works.

AnonD-16303, 23 Oct 2011i thought it would have tegra processor disappointing I think Samsung did not have a chance to do the spec list for this Nexus phone. Google put up the specs though. If so, it is quite disappointed that Exynos was not selected. However, I believe the upcoming review will speak for itself. If the phone performs well within our expectation, it shows that the specs work. Agree?
